Hello! My name is Mike Farrell and I am the owner/operator of Fatherville.com.

I am passionate about being a dad and fervent about fatherhood, I have three children ages 12, 7 and 6. My wife, Dawn, and I have been married for 14 years. One of my deepest desires is to pass on the legacy of my faith to my children. I am leader-in-training at my church. I also have the pleasure of teaching Kindergarten - 1st grade Sunday School with my wife. I'm also a team captain with the All Pro Dad's program.

The Fatherville website has been online since 2001. It began simply as a place for dads to write and share about their unique fathering experiences. My vision for fathers eventually extended beyond the web site and in October 2005 I formed the Fatherville organization. The organization's mission is to conduct research on fathers and fathering, and develop practical resources to prepare dads for various fathering situations. The organization looks toward improving the well-being of children by inspiring, encouraging, challenging, and educating fathers to become actively engaged in the lives of their children.

I received my Bachelors degree in 1991 from Boise State University, (Go Broncos) where I majored in English, and Secondary Education.

I have also co-authored the popular e-book, "25 Must Know, Time Saving, Stress Reducing Secrets for New Dads" a primer for the first time father. So, if you are new dad..go get a copy.

The mission of Fatherville is two-fold: First to improve the well-being of children by inspiring and equipping men to be more effectively involved in the lives of children. Second to encourage, challenge, and educate fathers to become actively engaged in the lives of their children. An increasing trend towards fatherlessness in America is disturbing and the Fatherville organization is here to help reverse that trend. Founded by Michael Farrell in 2005 the organization's mission is to conduct research on fathers and fathering, and to develop practical resources to prepare dads for various fathering situations.

Ultimately Fatherville is a website resource. It's for fathers...by fathers and about fathers and the rewards of fatherhood. The purpose of the site is to provide articles and essays that will encourage men to become better fathers through the exchange of ideas that can take place in an online environment. I believe that when we are willing to relate our own personal tips, tricks and traps we can learn from one another about some of the pitfalls to be avoided. To be sure parenting is a journey. But if we can help one another along the way then we can become a support and an encouragement for one another in order to do our most important job to the very best of our ability.

So, if you are a father, a step-father, a male role model, or just a man who knows a kid who needs help then Fatherville is for you.

Eight times he's not only pushed him 26.2 miles in a wheelchair but also towed him 2.4 miles in a dinghy while swimming and pedaled him 112 miles in a seat on the handlebars--all in the same day.
