The fat in "fat husband" is relative to different people. Different builds, height, genetics, and general health all determine what "fat" is. A fat husband may or may not be something you want, however, just because he gains weight or loses his muscle tone doesn't mean you're ready to trade him in either!

Personally, I'm glad my husband has a bit of meat on his bones and isn't skinny. That doesn't mean that I want him to be fat with all of the health problems that being obese brings either. (And, no, I'm not saying that to butter him up!)

And, Ladies, that may mean you have to join him in a few activities to get him motivated. He'll need encouragement to get started on a program and definitely MORE encouragement to KEEP him on a weight loss program!

Always Take the "Moving" Option!

One tip for a fat husband losing weight is to always take the "moving" option when you are given a choice.

For example, when faced with a choice of parking close to the front entrance of a store or parking in the back and walking in, take the parking spot that is furthest away from the store. It's not exercise, it's just a few steps more to take to get inside.

Once inside that store, take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. Walk instead of using a motorized cart. Instead of finding a seat and plonking down while the wife is in the fitting room trying on clothes, take a walk to the sporting goods or electronics department.

If he's into playing Xbox or Play Station games on the TV, see if you can get him to change the system to a Wii gaming system. Instead of just sitting there moving his thumbs, he'll actually have to get up and MOVE to play the game. Sneaky, but if it works, why not?

When offered a choice of barely moving or moderate moving, take the choice where you get to use up a little energy. Be conscious of the choices you make each day and they'll all add up at the end of the day.

See, no formal exercise, but you got moving! You burned up energy and you used more muscle than you usually do.

You may NOT see a change on the weight scale, but you WILL see and feel your body changing. Soreness of the muscles is good. They are telling you that they got a workout! And working out is one step of the quick fat loss and prime muscle building change that you want to bring to your body.

Loose pants, even when the scale doesn't move by a pound, will be telling you that your body is changing its composition. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat. So even if you don't see a pound change, you'll probably be seeing a clothes size change.

    Nice lens, I like to follow any simple diet system and make it a habits, not just to burn some fat and then going back to your old eating way again...

    by the way I liked your lens with the cartoon characters. Very funny!!

    Thanks for this site, my husband is 34 lbs overweight dealing with cancer and has lost 25% of his lung capacity Friday we found out it is really more because of being overweight.
