There's something about Christmas music that helps us get into the spirit of the holidays. Whether you like Christmas Carols or popular Christmas songs, singing along puts the Christmas cheer into all of us.

These are some of my favorite Christmas songs - I've limited myself to ten which was hard work! I hope they bring some joy to you too.....if you really like them don't forget to download them, that way you can listen to them whenever you like!
Christmas never seems like Christmas until I've heard the Snoopy song, but last year I didn't hear it at all - has it had it's day?

This year I will hear it, even if I have to play it myself. Here is the song that tells me it's that time of the year (why, I have no idea!).

Of course being a teen in the 80s I really have to include two songs that were both released in 1984 and have become Christmas Classics. Band Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas? And Wham!'s holiday hit, Last Christmas.

A beautiful song which isn't usually played around Christmas or even put onto Christmas compilations is Paul McCartney's Pipes of Peace. This is a beautiful song that embodies the goodwill to all men sentiment of Christmas.

Since having my daughter I love Jingle Bells (which she performed in her pre-school), Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer (also performed at pre-school) and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus (performed in Grade 2). Here are some videos of these songs, trust me they are not as good as my daughters, (apologies to Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick Jr & Michael Jackson) but they should fill you with cheer!

Another great Christmas song is Brenda Lee's Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree. Could you imagine Christmas without this song? I wonder if she imagined what a classic this song would become - 50 years later and it's still going strong.

Rounding out a tenth song is really hard as there are so many to choose from so I'm going to look to the movie Love Actually for the song Christmas is All Around. Bill Nighy plays a washed up pop star so well!!

    My favorite Christmas song is Carol of the Bells. So grand and beautiful. While we may have different tastes as Christmas songs go, this was still a fun, festive lens. Can't wait til Christmas!
