How often do you listen to music in a day? Do you listen everyday? I get so hooked on certain singers or songs, when their music touches my heart. Music can get your through breaks ups, and can start off new romances, and just makes have a plain old good time dancing.

My Number 1 Favorite
What can I say. If you are female, then Adele sings for all of us. She sings the words out loud that we feel in our hearts and souls. Every slow love ballad about a break up can take us back to the one we lost, but still love. Then comes along her soulful songs like "Fire To The Rain" and gives you the strength to get through anything!The thing about Adele is she seems like she is so down to earth. In her concerts she stops between each song and explains the meaning of them. Even making jokes about her ex boyfriend hat most of them are written about. She is the girl next door, with a gorgeous voice.

You've Come A Long Way From Idol, Baby!
I love this girl!! I love all her songs too. I didn't vote for her on American Idol when she was on the very first season. Shows what I know about talent! Where's Justin now? I'm nor sure, but I know Kelly is rockin it!Her songs are the kind that gives women the strength to get through what they are going through. She always sounds like she is half yelling at someone with her raspy but strong voice, and it makes her songs very powerful!
She is just one of them women that just oozes strength.

I don't know what it is about Katy Perry. She is so cute and friendly but still has that spunky style that will never make her boring. Whether it's her never ending color change of hair, or her quirky costumes, she is always fun to watch.She has that sweet side to her also that makes her feel like she could be your best friend. I have seen her on The Ellen Show, and hugging little British Princess girls, Sophia Grace and Rosie and she just seems like she keeps it real and stays down to earth.
She also has the same uphill battles as most of us women, not being able to get love right. In her intereviews she talks about the upgill battles she faced with getting her career to take off to. It wasn't easy and she faced a lot of rejection before gaining the fame she now has.
Janis Joplin
Brings ya back to the 70's
Man, who could not love Janis Joplin? She sings with her soul. I don't know anyone who has not drove down the road with the top down or the windows open belting out, "Windshield wipers flappin..." Yes we all love Bobby McGee. And all of her songs. I don't think she has a bad one! We lost her too soon, like we do so many, but she sure left behind a legacy!She brings out the "hippie chick" in all of us.

The Cranberries
I still listen to them. I never get tired of their songs ever. They are timeless. British Singer, Dolores O'Riordan's voice still has a current vibe to it and she has some really cool hair. I love to watch her style change but her music remains top on my list for favorites. The rest of the guys in the band are fO'Riordan, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan and drummer Fergal Lawler.They just recorded their sixth album, Roses, in May 2011, with a release due 27 February 2012.
Dido
In the late 1990's Dido emerged. I remember it was one of the first "Indie" style songs I had ever heard. I immediately feel in love with her style of music. I was so happy when Eminem included her "Thank You" lyrics on one of his tracks. What a duo.Dido has won numerous awards for her songs, from best song to best album.
Melissa Etheridge
I think we all have to love Melissa Etheridge's wispy yet powerful voice. Her love songs like some of the other above have that sappy yet still strong powerful sound to them. Reminding you that you can be sad, but still be strong. Her folk songs are simply inspiring!She is a gay rights activist since she came out in 1993 and also an environmental activist. She also speaks publicly about her battle with breast cancer in 2004.

Stevie Nicks
Whether Stevie is singing solo or singing with her band "Fleetwood Mac" you gotta love her. With her timeless unique "gypsy" style, she can belt them out, each one better then the next.I don't think there was a decade not affected by her in the last forty years. And she's as good today as she was when she first came out with her first number one single, "Dreams." I remember watching her and Tom Petty's romanced take off, and wanting to be just like her when I was young. She seemed like she had such a "free" style. So different then anyone else that was popular in the 70's or 80's.

Joan Jett
Back in the 80's every girl wanted to be Joan Jett. She was punk, she was a rocker, she was everything that a cool chick could be! All her songs were brave and bold. Remember "Do You Want To Touch" coming out? Our moms were shocked and we had to listen to our Joan Jett casettes far away from out parents!She definately started a "punk" trend with her choppy hair cut style and tight leather pants.

For those of you who "Heart" was before your time, you don't know what you missed! These rocking girls came out of nowhere and took over the radios! Ann and Nancy Wilson were the two sister that rocked the band called, "Heart." Two girls, one blonde and one brunette from Canada, I remember this was the first "heavy metal chick band" that I had ever seen. 
Fergie
I admit, I might have a girl crush on Fergie. I love her voice. I love her look, her clothes, everything about her. She's awesome in her band, "The Black Eyed Peas" and she's awesome when she is solo. She can dance, she can sing, and she has really cool videos that never get old. Fergie Rocks.

Pink
Pink has been and will always be one of my favorite. However I love her original rocker girl songs before she turned more pop. I still like all her songs though. She is lucky enough to be married to Carey Hart at the whom she met at the 2001 X Games, or should I say he's luck enough to be married to her.She says her two biggest influences are Madonna and Janis Joplin. She definetly has the edge of Janic Joplin, she is a rocker. But she can sing anything, from R&B to pop to a sultry ballad. She can do it all. She can also dance like no one's business.

Tori Amos
Tori is a quirky pianist, singer-songwriter and composer. I'm not even sure if quirky is the right word? The way she sings and hangs off the side of the piano bench while she's singer, is just something that is a sight to be seen. She's very different. I want to say there is noone like her.That's why I love her. I know every word to every song she has, but cannot tell you what one of those songs means! If you listen to her too, you might know what I'm saying. With songs like "Corn Flake Girl," she'll have you singing along, but not having a clue what you are singing about!

Indigo Girls
Amy Ray and Emily Saliers have a folk rock edge to their music. They met in grade school and began performing together i high school. They started performing with the name "Indigo Girls" as students at Emory University, playing weekly at The Dugout, a bar in the Emory Village.There is just something really cool about them and their music. I probably don't need to say much about Rihanna. We all know her and love her. We have watched her through her troubles with Chris Brown to becoming the star she is today. Rihanna can't fail. She is so talented, with her ability to sings like a bird, being able to dance, and her gorgeous looks, she pretty much has it all in the talent industry anyways. I won't be shocked if eventually she is an actress. She was really hilarious on the Saturday Night Live skits with "Shy Ronnie."I love all of her songs and creative videos.

Jewel has the best love songs by far. It is hard to not cry through her songs even if you are in the happiest of relationships. She not only sings, but she writes her songs and plays the guitar too. Jewel's debut album was Pieces of You, in1995, and became one of the best-selling debut albums of all time.
Her genre is a mix between sultry rock, love ballad, counry, indie. She really doesn't fit into just one catergory.

A Tribute To A Star
Of course we couldn't end this lens without a tribute to Whitney Houston, one of the most powerful female singers ever. She set the tone for women back in the 80's. Not only could she sing, but she could act also. From belting out her love songs like, "I Will Always Love You," to watching her love movie, "The Bodyguard," with co star Kevin Costner. She has definitely touched all of our lives. There doesn't seem to be much she couldn't do other then to kick the addiction that ended up probably taking her life.

- I am not familiar with some of the artists on here. I choose Heart because Anne Wilson actually overcame a speech impediment by trying to sing . . I love some of their songs too. I am now sort of into Hot Country . . but all music has a special place for me.
