The Books We Love!

We love to read! Not just Mom and Dad, but our toddler also. One of our toddler's favorite activities is going to the local library and bringing homes piles of books every couple of weeks.

Reading books together with your children helps them develop reading skills and creates great bonding time. An early love of reading and a strong reading ability will help them throughout their lives!

A Love for Books

I try to choose our books carefully and sometimes we find some extra neat ones. While most kids enjoy Dr. Seuss, Berenstain Bears, and Curious George, sometimes we just want something new! I hope you enjoy our list of favorite children's books that have been kid-tested and Mom approved.

Singing Books

My toddler calls these books "singing books" because they are each based on a well know song. Some have the original lyrics, while others feature fun, new lyrics based on the same melody. These books are great for singing together!

Books by Peter Spier

I recently stumbled onto a big book entitled "People" by Peter Spier at our local public library. I'm always looking for different, interesting, non-fiction books to bring home for our boys to look at. This particular book, while somewhat out of date (ie. world population) is still fun to read. It has tons of intricate pictures portraying various games played around the world, different facial features, various clothing, foods eaten by those in different countries, etc. It's a great book to look at and read when you have plenty of time to explore the pictures!

Peter Spier is a new author to me, but I've already put some more of his books on reserve at the library. Yeah!

I love reading new book suggestions! My kids both love to read. We try to keep some library books around in addition to our growing book collection to always have new things to read.
