The summer daylight in Sweden is almost around the clock. The sun is shining when I go home a late evening.
I dont need high boots, wool sweather or even stockings.

The air is full of the smell of lilacs, honeysuckle and roses .....

For me actually it's a toss between spring and autumn but at this time I happen to like autumn just a bit more. In autumn the temperature is cool and crips again, a nice change from the dog days of summer. My favorite holiday (Halloween) is in autumn, and there are a lot of interesting activities. Oh, and my birthday is also in autumn :)

The color is gorgeous usually and the crunch of the leaves is such a lovely sound. It means that things are winding down and getting less hectic after running around with the kids all summer. It also means that winter, my second favorite time of year, is coming with beautiful snow!

I can never understand why people connect Autumn with death. Yes, I know leaves are dropping, and soon the trees will be bare. But to me, it's just a beautiful statement that the seasons are still rotating year after year, as God intended from the day of Creation. I LOVE the explosion of colors, but I also love how fall mornings smell. I like the sound of the school bus roaring up the street, and all the excited kids with their new clothes and new backpacks walking by my kitchen window.

I like having a cooler season after a hot summer, too. What's not to like about Autumn? I can't think of anything, can you?
