    When I lived in Florida I volunteered to have cats in my home that were waiting to be adopted. The kids had fun with them as they came and went and we still talk about our favorites. Florida is overrun with strays!... and kudos to you for doing a great thing to help out down there! We adopted 2 cats here in NH and I continue to support the shelter with donations. Squidoo is a great place for doing this.

    I got my cat, Missy, through the Humane Society in Chapel Hill, NC. I give every year to them.

    I know nothing about FCNMHP. Made a lens about my cat hotel. For years I took care of the purring guests. My neighbor took care of dogs, even the ones the police found.

    What a great organization Jacksonville has to rescue, treat and find homes for homeless pets. And what a terrific person you are to donate so much money and time to this cause! Have fun with your new cat.

    As beautiful as my Xander is he is getting fixed on April 13th. Also getting a micro chip so that he won't be homeless if he gets lost. I had two Dalmatians, both of whom were arrested and it was the chips who got the canine cops to call me to bail them out!

    Now that all my pets are spayed and neutered, I'm a huge believer in it and hope everyone considers this now affordable option!

    My family is huge pet lovers, and I loved reading about all that First Coast is offering Jacksonville residents. My mom and sister would have loved having services for the strays they found and cared for. Excellent lens! Welcome to the Fun in Florida group.

    I'm voting for this charity for the December contest. There are so many great causes out there, and this is one of them. I remember the first time I ever became aware of the feral cat issue, when I spent a summer in Israel at the age of sixteen. I wanted to take every one home with me, but I would have had to charter my own jumbo plane to transport just those on the one kibbutz. Since then, I've noticed feral cat populations just about everywhere I've lived.

    I voted for this charity on the December charity contest thingy - I hate to see so many homeless animals running loose! I have taken in one homeless kitty but am maxed out at 3 cats.

    I think this is a wonderful service. We love feeding the kitties at our office, but were wondering how we could catch them and get them spayed/neutered and then bring them back so we can still care for them. Brownie is a lover boy; sister kittie is still aloof and Endora "Mommy Cat" looks like she's pregnant again. Can't wait to get things going! Thanks again,

    I just found this site & FCNMHP; thank god! I have been taking care of 14 ferals for the last year & finally can afford to get them fixed to avoid further population. Thank you FCNMHP!!! You're a life saver "literally"! over.. and over...

    What a delightful photo gallery. Looks a lot like my house, raccoons and all. I have my own humane trap, which I loan out to other animal rescuers. Every spayed and neutered cat makes a huge difference. I wish there were more people like you. Angel Blessed!

    A wonderful lens. I love the pictures. 5 stars and favorite and I'm a FAN! I've been working with my local shelter since 2000. Right now, I'm fostering a feral momma and her litter. She was too far along to be spayed when we got her. The kits are 22 days old today. I've already for homes for 2 of the 4 kittens. Working on socializing Mom more. At least get her spayed, etc. and returned to the colony or make her a barn cat. Thanks for all you do for our feline friends. Bear hugs and purrs, Frankie
