Easily Avoid Feature Creep

First A Definition: What Is Feature Creep?

Feature creep is that written incessant babbling that happens when we add just one more graphic, one more photo, one more paragraph, one more anything to an otherwise completed web page. It's that over complication in the interest of simplicity.

Writing is my hobby, and my writing tends to suffer from feature creep. So, this page will test out my addiction to keep writing, even when it is over. Let's see if I can tell you my secrets and still avoid feature creep.

Are You Ready for My Secret Weapon to Avoid Feature Creep

Pay close attention

this is feature creepTruth be told, it's not really a very big secret. You probably already guessed it. If not, think about it for a minute. What would be the quickest, easiest way to avoid feature creep?

Well, it's not the ridiculous road sign. In fact, it really has no place here other than to demonstrate a bit of feature creep. But just in case you were wondering, I saw it in New Zealand, nearby a golf course, so I can only assume it means, "Caution golfer with his golf bag crossing." Getting back to feature creep, have you figured out my secret yet?

Ok Here it is, my big secret to end feature creep . . .

STOP

So That's It, The Big Secret to Avoid Feature Creep

Can you remember?

More feature creepOr maybe I should ask, Can I remember? You see, I have been known to ramble. To forget to stop. To just keep on writing about my topic. But with feature creep there really isn't much else to say.

And there isn't much more to say about this New Zealand road sign either.

So, on to secret number two, which sounds a bit like the first secret. Only this time a bit more forceful.

Secret Number 2 . . .

STOP!

I'm definitely a feature creeper. I'm not a follower of Chanel's advice to remove a piece of jewelry after you are sure you are dressed. Nope, nosiree, not me. Anyway, if less is more, then the less you do the more you have so isn't the best way to avoid feature creep to HAVE feature creep? Blessed by a crazed squid angel.

Yes, I have creep, and it's more of a problem because squidoo pages load so slowly. When they are long and full of creep, the reader could get impatient...

Um, is it Feature Creep to keep adding thinigs for the purpose of updating lenses? If so, I am definitely guilty. Seems there's a lot of pressure to update frequently -- even if you though your lens was finished. Guess we cold update by removing instead of adding. Hmmm.
