I've been like a kid with a new toy since I discovered Feed 43, an online service that will (with a little HTML-massage) create an RSS feed from "any" page. The Feed 43 Announcements blog recently (16 JUN 06) unveiled the long-anticipated paid account upgrades.
Amazon associates don't make nearly as much as most people seem to think they would, and I keep a very tight grip on the purse-strings -- but I've been very pleased with Feed43's "paid 100" service so far. (Even though they seem to be having some trouble with the Christmas rush.)
It isn't even necessary to register to try the Feed 43 service, although the free registration gives you a place to store your feeds. The paid service, as you would expect, adds some very useful enhancements to the "basic" free service.
The documentation is a little sparse, consisting mainly of a tutorial and of course, the FAQ, but the latter explains that the macro-languge of Feed 43 is tha same as for an earlier A. I. Studio product, WatzNew
WatzNew is a "personal web portal" that polls your favorite websites and alerts you when they have published new content. It is available in a Freeware version and a 30-day free trial version
Most people will find that WatzNew suits their custom-aggregator needs, but for webmasters who prefer the RSS-creation of Feed 43, there is a more detailed expalanation of the macro-language in the WatzNew Manual

Fetching RSS feed... please stand byI'm pretty new at the Feed 43 interface, but I've cobbled together some feeds, and they're getting better as I go along. I'm sure I'll have to go back and revise the whole set periodically ...
I'm working on several new lenses that will incorporate feeds, so stay tuned ...
Well, I did say I was like a kid with a new toy -- sorcerer's apprentice might be more like it. In any case, I've got feeds in virtually all of my lenses. I'm gradually finding other ways to deal with "evergreen" (static) content. Stay tuned ...
This "recent" series probably best represents the capabilities of the Feed43 service. The more you play with the interface, the more cool things you can do.

I've never quite been sure what distinguishes a blog from a regular webpage. Timeliness seems to have something to do with it, but that doesn't seem to be a hard and fast rule.
Anyway, here are some of the things I've been working on lately...
