The World Hunger Problem

Now, as the holiday season is approaching, a lot of us are thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas already. We are making a mind about how to decorate our homes and what to cook to celebrate the holidays. Are you concerned about is as well? Than please let me ask you to keep your thoughts for a few minutes and read on.
Did you know that 1 billion people in the world are suffering from hunger or malnutrition? This is a number with nine zeros; 1,000,000,000. About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger-related causes.

This lens is to help raising some awareness and feeding the needy. Thus all royalties from this site are donated to Action Against Hunger.

So besides leaving a comment or donating some amount, please help and consider to bookmark this lens, to lensroll it, to stumble it, to digg it, to send it to a friend or whatever you think might help to spread the word.

Let's all raise awareness. Think about the numbers. Petition the UN to put a system in place that drops RUTF's from airplanes when governments won't allow aid trucks to get in. Support Doctors Without Borders, they get to people other agencies can't, but even they got kicked out of Darfur. I pray for everyone less fortunate than I, but expecially for the children.

It does sadden me to see so much food thrown out of the back of supermarkets when people halfway across the world are starving. There must be a better way than that. What a great lens.
