How You Can Help Feed the Poor, the Hungry and the Destitute in 2012
I have my health; a home; clothes to wear; enough food to eat everyday in addition to a loving and supportive family.
So how did I get so lucky? How did I not fall through the cracks?
With all the advancements, education and capabilities that our world has, why are there still people going hungry everyday?
Throughout this page I will be sharing of charities, organizations and programs that are helping to feed those that have no means of daily food, live in destitution and continuously lift their voices for help with the hope someone will hear them.
I will be sharing with you how you can help make a difference through volunteering or donations of either your time or money.
If you are feeling lead to make a difference then read on and see how these charities, organizations and programs may be a first step for you. By all means feel free to share this information to help create awarness.
"One person can not do it all, but one person can make a difference."
Helping Others In Need
Creating Awareness
Matthew 25:40 Jesus says "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for me."It is by our very core christian values that we have a calling and yearning to help others in need, to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
Christ has given us a great commission to such a task in Matthew 22:39
I am here to provide a path for you if you feel drawn to help somewhere.
There are many, many great organizations doing wonderful work all over the world. These are just a few that my family and I are involved in.
These organizations are doing good works among the people they serve and there is always room for more help by volunteering, spreading awareness and donations.
So if you will allow me, I'd like to share with you these organizations and programs that are providing means of aid for their brothers and sisters in need.
I invite you to follow along and learn more? There's plenty of room for more.
"We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee." 'quote by: Marian Wright Edelman'

Plumpy' Nut Project
1 Corinth 13:13 'And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.'
A child dies nearly every 6 seconds in Africa due to malnutrition. Very shocking statistics given our present day capabilities. But Plumpy' Nut is helping to change that.
Plumpy' Nut is a packaged peanutty paste the provides nutritional vitamins and minerals to extreme malnourished children to get them to a stage to be able to consume food again . It is distributed to some of the most devastated areas where children do not receive proper food and water.
If you notice in this picture of this lovely and bright eyed child, the hair is orange, this is occurs from lack of protein in the diet.
I am a distributor with a Christian based jewelry company that offers affordable fashion 'jewelry with a purpose' that is helping to change that.
Just Jewelry© began offering a 'Faith, Hope and Love' bracelet this Spring that contributes to the aid of millions of starving children.
With the purchase of a $15 charming adjustable bangle bracelet, you also purchase two 'Plumpy'nut' packets that help to sustain a life of a malnourished child. These packets are administered through 'Doctors without Borders' foundation, just one of many organizations helping to fight this battle.
If you would like to find out more information on Plumpy'nut; who they are, who receives it, how it's given out and change the life of a child through a simple purchase of a 'Faith, Hope & Love' bracelet follow this link to find out more.

Atlanta Community Food Bank 5K Hunger Walk/Run
Walking with a Purpose
According to the Feeding America 2010 study, partnering agencies of the Georgia food banks assist approximately 1.4 million Georgia residents, which includes children and the elderly.Every year the Atlanta Community Food Bank partners up with other Christian church bodies and organizations and sponsors a 5k walk/run starting and ending at Turner Stadium in March.
Thousands of people come out to support this day of fellowship to increase the awareness of those that go without meals every day.
The feeling of unity among all these people walking with a purpose is very lifting and energizing. We have been participating in this since 1998 as a family.

- "I am continuously amazed at how blessed I am!
I have my health; a home; clothes to wear; enough food to eat everyday in addition to a loving and supportive family."
That gratefulness is what god wants to see in every human heart! I think every human must do something small or big to help others who are in need. Not just the charities but helping individually will also make a big difference to the poor.
Thanx for bringing such a wonderful topic to Public eyes!
