How-to Use the Feed My Search Module

The Feed My Search module is a very cool module that helps you build your lens with Google searches that provide relevant, spot-on content to keep your lens fresh. This is a how-to lens to give you pointers on how to use the Feed My Search module. How-to turn your usual Google searches into tiny RSS feeds, right on your lens.

Editor's Note: The Feed My Search module is probably the most tempermental and persnickety module you will work with -- when it is working, it is probably one of the coolest modules! When it isn't working, it can be frustrating.

Dear feedmysearch user, Feedmysearch would require some serious server upgrade and a bit of development to be back online. However it seems hard to monetize and without monetisation, no future ! You ‘re welcome to express any opinion, advice, partnership proposal ! And feel free to forward it to whoever you think might have a say. [...]

Feed My Search -- economic recovery -- whatever it takes!

Searching news for what is the news --> economic recovery!

Using the search terms of "economic recovery" -- I've done a news search this time showing 5 results and opting to show everything available and updating 1 day.

Feed My Search -- breaking news -- what's hot

Searching local for breaking news --> now that should be news!

Using the search terms of "breaking news" -- I've done a local search this time showing 5 results and opting to show everything available and updating 1 day. This particular filter of "Local search" appears a bit buggy bringing up California results -- I'd like to be able to specify a zip code -- that might be an enhancement in later releases. Stay tuned for the breaking news on this option!!! ;)

Yes, I do indeed love the Feed My Search module and hope that it is always a part of the building blocks for building a Squidoo lens. There was a time that it was acting a little buggy, but those bugs appear to be ironed out. Count me in as a die-hard fan of this module. Whenever possible, I opt to include it in most lenses!

No way Jose, I'll use RSS feeds instead!

I haven't tried this yet! I'll take a closer look.

There's so many ways to include RSS material, including this module, Twitter and RSS feeds. I would love it if someone compared them all.
