How to Fencing a Fencing Club?

Got the itch? Here's how to find a place to fence.

The best way to learn more about fencing is to get out and do it. There are over 500 fencing clubs in the United States and most of the larger fencing clubs end up running classes at community colleges or the local YMCA to help market the sport.

There are a few places you can go to look for fencing clubs:

  • Visit our listing of Fencing Clubs in the United States to browse clubs by state, our use the Zip Code Search tool to find the clubs that are within driving distance.
  • When visiting the Fencing Clubs Listing, take a look at those in your state to see if they offer classes at the local rec centers.
  • Check at local rec centers and community colleges to see if there are any fencing classes offered.
  • If all else fails, head to the Fencing Forums and ask if there are any clubs in your area. The members there are really friendly and provide good advice.

i did two terms of fencing in school - then the tutor left! Guess somebody was trying to tell me something. I do, however, still remember many of the moves, so she must have been a good tutor! Blessed by a SquidAngel.

Good lens. I did not know all of the information about the skills of fencing. I have a friend that did fencing when he was in school. He still talks about it. I am glad I have had a chance to read more about it. Thank you!

I admire the grace, agility and skill of fencing. Fencing matches are some of my favorite scenes from old movies...Oh, the swashbuckling heroes... and Zorro! I guess that's why I've enjoyed the Olympic matches, too. This is an enjoyable and instructive lens. Thanks!
