The Fender Stratocaster Guitar

Ranked #11,603 in Music, #316,050 overall

The All American Legendary Stratocaster

Sure, they've been made in Japan, Mexico and Korea, but they've been made in the USA too - and it's been the USA where they've been embraced and grown into the legendary status they've achieved.

Eric Clapton named his strat Blackie.  He wore Blackie out to the point where Blackie couldn't be restored anymore  Finally Clapton worked with Fender to  design an Eric Clapton model to his specifications - much like Clapton had pieced together multiple Stratocasters decades earlier.

If you disagree with these rankings, vote!  Also, leave a blurb! Tell me in the blurb what Strat guitarists you'd place on the list.  If you make your case in a reasonable way and persuade me, I'll had him or her to the list.

Stratocasters on Display At Buddy Guy's Legends Bar in Chicago

Which guitarists have Strats on display at Buddy's Guy's Legends Bar in Chicago?

The follow guitarists have Strats on display at Buddy's Guy's Legends Bar in Chicago:

Eric Clapton
Jeff Beck
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Jimmie Vaughan

I didn't see one that was autographed by Buddy Guy himself. Funny. It's his bar & grill.

Yngvie Malmsteen? Just kidding. He has amazing skills but I don't think any sane person could stand listening to his noodling more than 5 minutes without losing their mind...

    Hey linkpub,
Love you site. Found it researching passive solar panels. I will be building a few serious ones in the next month or two. You cracked me up with your report on how you built it! My fav Blues Bros quote is "Hit it" (it follows the "170 miles............dark glasses on") but you knew that. One of the few movies I will watch more than once, in fact I own it. My sixteen year old son started with a fender strat pack at 12 years old, got it signed by Jason Mraz and Toka Rivera at 14 after a show in St. Louis. Had to retire that one and got him an Ameican Strat Deluxe. The kid is amazing! He was to be interviewed for the second time on a webtv show tonight but the host got very sick and cancelled. You can see and hear some of his stuff on his myspace if you are interested. Any way we love his Strat! For acustic Taylor is our choice.
I'll vote for you when I can figure out how.
Thanks for the laugh and great site!

Fenders are great! I have one. Not my favorite guitar company, but definitely #2.

I also have a article I just published on buying a guitar online.
