The Fender Stratacoustic In Classic Sunburst Finish
Fender has redesigned and upgraded the Stratacoustic and Telecoustic acoustic/electric models!
The $200 model seen here with fiberglass back and sides is still being produced with the Squier label.
The newer deLuxe models from Fender have upgrades you'll appreciate for around $500. They now have a spruce top, solid mahogany back and laminated mahogany sides.
You'll find a Fishman classic IV MT pre-amp, built-in tuner, built-in Fender Telecaster pick-up, Fishman under-the-saddle pick-up and vintage Fender style machine heads.
All models come with a genuine Fender bolt-on, maple neck with 21-fret, rosewood fretboard and a rosewood bridge.

Fender DeLuxe Stratacoustic!
You may miss the whammy bar, but I can tell you this is a great guitar for playing slide.Many players and reviewers found the original tinny, unplugged. The deLuxe model seems to have conquered this and with a good acoustic amp, you can get nice, true-sounding acoustic tones (you could do nearly as well with the original!).
It's great unplugged for quiet practice, but has considerably better volume and tone than any "practice guitar".
Pictured here is the deLuxe model in black with a pick-guard (which I'd strongly recommend).
