Feng Shui Bed Placement

Clear out the clutter!- This will have the most dramatic improvement in your living space. Clutter brings chaos and drains the energy from a room.

Remove Passive Forms of Entertainment - If you have a large number of books, or anything that is mentally stimulating, consider relocating them to another room. THey drain your energy and take away from the center and harmony that you are trying to create.

Organize - Once the clutter is gone, organize everything that's left over. This will help you feel more calm and happy. Ever notice that when you enter someones home and it's light, bright and clear of clutter, how much better and happier you feel?

Under the bed storage - A great way to hide the clutter and yet have it easily accessible is via under bed storage.

Linens, Spare Blankets and Pillows -These should have their own area, whether it's in a basket or in a tucked away corner. COnsider space bags as well. They are amazing at string comforters.

Clothes - Consider using another room to store most of your clothes and maybe create a separate dressing room.

Bedside Tables - Should be free of clutter. If there are certain items that you need, i.e. tissues saline solution, books, etc. keep these small items neatly stored away in the drawer.

Your Bedroom is a place for Rest and Romance - It should be peaceful, serene, free of clutter and comfortable. You will find yourself sleeping more restfully and waking up happier when your surroundings are in balance.

Your bed should be placed facing the door, but not directly across from it. Place the headboard against a wall, not a window, for added energy and security.

Try to keep the bed as far from the bedroom door as possible. The farther your bed is from the door, the more safe and comfortable you will feel.

Align your bed so that you have the best view of your bedroom. The larger the space that you have in your vision, the better you will feel.

Be sure not to have the head of the bed backed up against a bathroom wall because it will flush the energy down the drain.

There are eight pillars of happiness in Fung Shui. Two of them are Love and Romance. Here are a few guiding principles to help rev up your romance.

Matching Night Stands - Symbolically they represent a couple being bonded, and represent a visual statement of their importance to the room.

Energy Zappers - Some elements like water fountains, wind chimes and plants will create great chi (positive energy), but then don't belong in the bedroom. Your bedroom is primarily for rest and romance. These elements drain both.

Work Related Objects - Remove all items that distract from the main purpose of the bedroom. Computers, Desks, Treadmills, etc. all drain your chi and distract from the bedrooms purpose.

TV - Yes, if you have an old, outdated TV, consider a newer flat screen. WIth their matte black appearance, they are less distracting.

Art - Choose artwork carefully as it has a major influence on us during sleep. Avoid flowers, as they deplete energy and cool off passion. Select artwork that stimulates romance like birds and butterflies and colors that are skin toned such as beige, tan, brown, or pink.

Bed and Mattress - Make sure your mattress is comfortable and your bed is sound. You want the area here you spend one third of your life to be as solid and comfortable as possible to encourage restful sleep and stimulate romance.

Don't get overwhelmed with creating the perfect environment overnight. Take it a step at a time and as you make improvements, you will see the results and gain energy to further complete your quest.
