EBAY IS LIKE A GIANT TREASURE HUNT

I've had a store on eBay for about 4 years now and love it. The name of my store is VINTAGE MAGAZINES ADS CARDS GIFTS

I really enjoy the hunt to find great treasures to resell to my customers and I'm thrilled when a customer comes to my store and finds that one particular treasure they can'tlive without.

I'd like to show you a few of my more special treasures and who knows--you may just find something you can't live without either!

MY EBAY STORY

Now, You Knew There Had To Be A Story!

Fenton Hobnail--what can I say? You're either crazy about it or you're not.

Personally, I think it was the opalescent rims that got me hooked. The way the colors swirled and blended together. No two are ever alike. Ever!!

And the feel of all the little hobs beneath your fingertips almost makes you feel in touch with the glass. Almost like it's speaking to you.

I know that sounds silly but I do have pieces that I dearly love to hold and look deeply into the colors of the glass. These are my prizes! Other pieces I have are also beautiful but don't "speak" to me. I guess you have to be a glass collector (or nuts?) to understand what I'm talking about.

FENTON OPALESCENT HOBNAIL

A History Of This Glassware

The Fenton Art Glass Co. has been in business since 1905. It's the oldest continuing manufacturer of glass giftware of its kind.

They were the first company to make "Carnival" glass (a very popular collectible) and began to make the hobnail in the late 1930's in a large variety of shapes and sizes. It wasn't until the 1940's that the Cranberry and the Blue Opalescent Hobnail were produced.

Strangely, an awful lot of today's highly collectible pieces were sold in stores like Woolworth's and S.S. Kresge's during the 40's and early 50's as medium-priced decorative pieces that weren't held in the high regard that they are today.
