Music Festival Les Vielles Charrus
A full on commercial event
Les Vielles Charrus music Festival is based in a town called Carhaix, Brittany in Northern France. Les Vieilles Charrues is a 4 day event that starts mid July. The 2009 Les Vielles Charrus eventshowcased acts from Bruce Springsteen, Moby, Lenny Kravitz and the Ting tings. The 2010 event showcased just as big acts ranging from Jamiroquai, Muse, Mika, Phoenix, Diams and Alain Suchon. The venue is rarther huge and the atmosphere tends to be buzzing. As for travel, the destination is fairly easy to get to with a Plymouth to Rosscoff ferry crossing taking you directly to the heart of the Brittany region. Some festival goers tend to make it a full week trip and do a little Brittany campsite hopping along the way. Les Mouettes campsite is a popular choice with the benefit of it only being a few miles away from the ferry port. Other favourites include Le Ranolien which has fantastic views of red rock coastlines and further a field just past Carhaix is Ty Nadan, which is located in a lush forest full of activities for all to enjoy.

Comedy and music festival Face et si
An eclectic mix of rock, jazz & not forgetting full on laughter
For those after something less commercial and more authentic? Then music lovers will certainly appreciate this music festival with a nice twist. Face et si is the most famous festival set on the Western France coastline (Vendee). Festival Face et Si combines an eclectic mix of jazz, rock and comedy, yes comedy, and the event usually takes place from the 11th-14th September. With a choice of concert performances taking place at Mouilleron-La-Captif - an open air concert hall - this scenic village is located near La Roche Sur Yon with the nearest airport being Nantes. Ferry travel is also possible and the nearest and most renowned Vendee campsite is la Garangeoire.

Street and salsa festival - Périgord Noir festival
An enchanting mix of music and street parties
To cater for all tastes and types of festival lovers the next concert is ideal for couples and groups that want to experience culture in the beautiful Dordogne, a picturesque countryside region of France full of Chateux's, castles and historic sights. Périgord Noir festival is commonly referred to a true music lovers festival. Usually occurring on mid-late June to September, this event brings a large mix of musicians of all abilities and ages from around the world to take to the streets of Dordogne and celebrate the Fête de la Musique. The festival tends to feature jam sessions on street corners, to huge open-air concerts and salsa parties that continue through late evening. As for travel, either Ferry to the North of France and face a fasinating 4 hour drive or fly to Bergerac airport and stop off's at St Avit Loisirs campsite or Les Peneyrals holiday park, both ideal for enchanting trips to the historical village of Sarlat.
