FFX-2 Songstress Costume: Screenshots and Tips
Next up on our Final Fantasy X-2 cosplay tour is the Songstress dressphere, letting you star in your own show.

General Songstress Dressphere Cosplay Notes
A few observations on the FFX-2 Singer costume
Common elements include ruffles laces on the arms, and, of course, the microphone. In the opening FMV, there's no microphone stand; in the actual game, the songstress dressphere microphone has a long stands and a circular wire around the condenser mike (see screenshots and concept art below). Each girl's microphone has two color accents: the grip is one color, the stand and the knob on the end of the mike is another.

Rikku Songstress Dressphere Reference Screenshots
To help with your Rikku songstress costume
Click concept art (right) to enlarge:I'm not quite sure what's going on with the purple feathers and coattails (sort of) -- is it Vegas? maybe a J-Pop star? Anyway, Rikku's quirky songstress costume looks like a lot of fun. She's color-coordinated her headband (but not her braids' beads) to go with her purple-and-gold ensemble.

I'll share some screenshots of Rikku's Songstress costume below, but really, if you want to examine her in-game model from every angle, you can't do better than study Prettygothgirl's Rikku model viewer poses. But I made these screenshots before I saw those, so ... here, you should be utterly set for screencaps to help you design this costume:

Paine Songstress Dressphere Reference Screenshots
To help with your Paine songstress costume
Click concept art (right) to enlarge:Paine's Songstress dressphere is an outrageous amalgam of Elvis, KISS and Freddie Mercury. Or something. I wouldn't advise wearing the pants quite that tight.
Her boots, as usual, have high heels.
It's a little hard to see, but her microphone has a reddish grip the same color as the red on her boots, with the stand teal like the teal ruffles on her costume. And she's got the odd chain and studded leather straps. Wow. So, here's costume details for this wild and crazy costume.

For what it's worth, there's a Yuna/Lenne cosplay costume you can buy. Also frequently available on eBay. I bet you can make a better one, though!

There's a ton of great Yuna songstress cosplayers out there, including that ever-so-cute Japanese cosplayer whose image usually appears at the top of search results -- who is she? so I'm just going to list a few.
- Hiyoko-chan as Lenne, LexiStrife and Nightmare Machine as Songstress Yuna
- More photos on Nightmare Machine's deviantArt gallery. All three are superb: I always get gooshy when the attention to detail extends to props and boots.
- PixieKitty's Rikku Songstress Cosplay
- Yes, the "semipro" cosplayers blow us away with their gradient dye jobs.
- Crystallike's Yuna Songstress Cosplay
- Holy cow. Everything from hair to boots looks spot-on. Uncannily good.
- Elsch's Paine Songstress Cosplay
- Paine songstress cosplay outfits are really rare. Elsch modified hers to make it a little more modest.
- Shining Polaris' Paine Songstress Cosplay
- bares the black leather (?) bra, but I'm not sure about that jacket color. Then again, the game model does show it's off-white, whereas the pants are white.
- Video: Yunita's Yuna Songstress Dressphere Change Cosplay
- I never get tired of this video. Yunita performs the Real Emotion concert, complete with spherechange and moves. And for those who prefer she be anorexic-- go away. Belly dancer tummy = cool.
