    Only knock the ball into space using the right stick to allow your player to sprint without the ball. If there is not enough space, the ball will be easily intercepted by your opponent.

    Thanks. Yes, it works for assisted and I use assisted all the time. Some like semi or manual setting. It is entirely up to you.

    Is the speed boost right when they touch the ball? Sounds like the right stick....practice using the right stick in the arena. great play but will get you in trouble too.

    Nice site, thanks for all the tips. Question, though. When you say you use the pass button to score of a header, how do you have your settings set up for passing (manual, semi, or assisted)? Will it work with assisted? Thx.

    There are "rumours" in the forums about changing the internal stats of a player. However, this is not a confirm glitch, I do not know how if there is such glitch. The reason your opponent's players run faster maybe due to his custom tactics and using the right stick to knock-off the ball into space.

    can anyone tell me how to get the extra speed i play online and everyone know some extra boost button that leaves my players for dead does anyone know how to do this ?

    The goalkeeper glitch allows the keeper to hold on to the ball and round around the penalty box for the entire 45 mins. Most people use this glitch in the second half.

    I did not understand the goalkeeper glitch, thankfully that hasnt happened to me but I get a lot of people cheating with the dream team glitch. Can u explain me the glitch of the goalkeeper? what does it basically do?

    I didn't experience this on PS3 for club matches. Are you on XBox360? If it happen every time even after you restart the game, it might be the Fifa 09 game disk issue. Is the disk scratched or something? The last problem might be the console itself.

    hi there, i noticed a bug in the club tournments, after i play the first match of the tournment, when shows the table for the second match, the game crashes, wont let me play the game or go back, so i have to quit the game, and after i tried go in the tourney again and i have to repeat the match , why that happens?

    You need a expert tactics manager in order to modify the full custom tactics of your team. Currently, in away game in UT, the custom tactics will appear messed up but it is still playable. The bug is with the display of the custom tactics stats for away team.
    A 99 stats team will be hard to find online game. My recommendation is to sell a few 99 stats player away to maintain a team of about 80/80/80 stats. A super human team that run around the field is not very realistic to play with too. Cheers!

    i was playing online agenst a guy and all my tactics got messed up and now i cant change my settings in Chance Creation what can i do about this its very enoying how bad my games are going thanx to this and im thinking of deleting my team and start new but thats sad as my team is now 99 98 99 and all my players i use are very expensive players...

    No news yet from EA. Currently the only way to play with friends on UT is to search for online league game at the same time until you see your friend.

    Yes, it still works in non-UT. In UT, it doesn't seem to work. :-)

    it also depends on how gd ur opponents have been(average opponent level) if this is high, u will have higher skill points

    If you use a low rated team to win a high rated team, you will get more skill points. You can win get more skill points from scoring more goals.

    how do u get more skills points in a game, as when i check my ranked there are people who have won less games than me and lost more but are still higher than me in rankings

    For news related to when can EA fix the UT bugs, you can visit EA UT forum as well to know about UT development (http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/fifa-09-ultimate-team/).
    To edit your team custom tactics in UT, you should get a manager with advanced or expert tactics (full edit). Alternately, you can train your manager using advanced tactics cards to expert.

    hey do you know anythung about whether EA servers are gonna fix all their major problems with the introduction of the UT. the game does not run smooth where i have noticed poor in game performance. i think EA have made a mistake where they cant handle the UT game egine - which is rather unprofessional.
    for the UT custom tactics how come i cannot edit my teams tactics in closing down the ball (i.e. agression, closing down, width) it wont let me edit this but can edit the rest?

    I don't play offline matches. There is not much difference to online. In online cup matches, when someone disconnect or quit the game, you lose one contract without completing those cups matches.

    fanx for the replies.
    for the tournaments on UT, well the offlien ones like the America's cup and British Isle's cup. these are offline right? - but yeah i entered into one the America cup where im playing the cpu. after the match is finished and goes back on the torunament display thingy, it wont let me exit and come back into the tournament.
    whats the significance of these cups ie the offline ones?

    Same problem for PS3 UT. The game crashes or hang as described by you as well. A contract is automatically deducted as well. These are the well known bugs of UT. Hopefully EA will release a patch soon.

    yeah that was when i played a lot until i stopped to play cod5. but getting bak into it.
    i have encountered quite a few probelms with the ultimate team. during a game when either on the pause menu or during half time menu, the game crashes. i dont know whether this is because of my xbox, or whether its just the game/EA server being unreliable. but my fifa game has neva crashed before like this where then disc is in good condition.
    but anyway, this is unbelievable annoying particularly if u are entering an online tournament where u have lost the match due to the game crashing even tho you may be winning. what is more annoying is that due to the game crashing it counts as a game played so the contract goes down where contracts are a very big probelm in this game mode!!!

    Hi, I'm on PS3 and now struggling to beat those 5 stars team in UT using my 2 stars team. The gameplay has changed abit after the UT patch though. You are really good to have 180 wins and 8 losts only. As for me, I enjoy sharing some tips I know here but I may not be as good as you. :) Cheers.

    do you have fifa on the xbox because it would be great if we could have a game. because i play a lot of fifa, and i want to know what you fink of my skills and have many questions?
    wen i played fifa alot i was ranked 500 on the xbox ranked matches. where i won about 180 n had lost 8 games so i quickly ranked up. - not bullsh*ting!!!

    WOW man. Its such a great lens. Keep it up. Rated 5 stars. I am right now playing Fifa09 so thats why its of great use to me. But my controller doesn't work perfectly. not able to map all buttons. :( Anyways thanx for the tips. ;)

    hey thanks alot for all this work, helped me alot.
    I am working on getting crosses and corners, but i could never get them! My player always lob cross the ball to either too deep in the box or too far away from the net or sometimes even pass the ball to completely empty area in the box. I could never get corners and crosses What gives?

    This formation is defensive counter attack strategy gameplay using balanced tactic. If one is a few goal down, I will switch to offensive tactic to move my players more upfront. On the whole, this is not a sure win formation. Fundamentally, one defensive and attacking skill must be strong.

    Against 100/100 high pressure tactics, when you have the ball, move the ball around using your back 5 defenders and watch the high pressure tactics. As soon as your player is open, pass the ball to him. As explained in my blog, use fast pass and move (1-2) tactics to release your forwards.

    I don't see you getting many goals with that formation, do you score many? Is there an alternative formation you go to when you need a goal? maybe when your 1 or 2 goals down?

    Also, how do you deal with someone playing 100/100 for pressure and aggression? Do you also go high pressure?

    Yes, I still use the above formation 5-3-2 for my team. Currently I only use Macclesfield to play.
