Making money from the Internet is really quite simple. It's not easy, but it's simple. And it takes a bit of effort, especially if you don't want to spend.

There are three important aspects you should keep in mind if you want to earn: Niche, Content, Keywords.

Let's discuss them.

Niche. To earn money, you can't compete in a saturated market. A saturated market is Internet Marketing. Everyone and his dog is into Internet Marketing. To even try to compete in that field, you'll have to be ready to dish out hundreds of dollars (thousands of pesos equivalent).

So you have to find a profitable niche, a field that doesn't have much competition, but possible buyers, nonetheless. An example would probably be "Caring for Alsatian Dogs." If you try for "Caring for Dogs," this would still be a highly competetive market. To trim it down to "Caring for Alsatian Dogs," would be a niche. See where I'm going with this?

Content. Now you'll have to build a website or write articles (or both) on Alsatian dogs. I suggest you build a website. You can get a really good web host for under $10 here.

People go to the Internet looking for information. Only a small percentage look for something to purchase. Yet, if they find good information at your website, then they're most likely to buy out of your recommendation (this is where building a mailing list comes in, but more on this on another section).

Thus, it's content (information) above anything else that will make you earn from the Internet. For sure, advertising will bring people to your website, but the major search engines, especially Google, would want to bring people to your site because of information. If your site is just a purely "buy this, buy that," site, they'll charge you an arm and a leg for your ads.

Keywords. As you build your site with information, it's good practice to build pages that are keyword optimized. This means you place certain keywords that searchers are likely to type into search boxes so pages of your site come out in the search results.

For example, if you type the phrase, "consequences of not eating a healthy breakfast" (type without the quotes), into Google's search box, the results will show my article as the first result and will show my website, health-shield.com, as the second. It's better, of course, to build pages with long-tail keyword phrases than just one-word or two-word keywords.

There are many free sites that offer keyword research, but keyword research can be a bit tedious. So I use an inexpensive service that does the work in a few clicks of the mouse and it costs me less than $10 a month. Click here to know what service I use.

However, as this Squidoo page suggests, you don't have to spend. You can start by getting a free account at blogspot.com. When you begin making money, you can get your own site. Having your own site gives you more flexibility and control.
