I loved the money pit movie. I was also a fan of Dark Shadows but it has been so long, I don't think I would do any good on that quiz.

Brilliant idea for a lens. I really enjoyed the house in Bright Star, the story of Keats romance. It's a period drama and the cinematography was amazing.

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir with Rex Harrison and Gene Tireney. Wonderful story of a lonely woman's love affair with the ghost of a handsome sea captain. A must see for all romantics. The house, "White Cliff," was a central character who Mrs. Muir felt upon seeing it for the first time that it "called out to her to save it." --- I have to go put in the DVD right now ....

A worthy subject. And extra props for acknowledging at the start that these are not necessarily great movies in all other respects.

I remember wanting a cottage like Snow White's! It's nice to know I'm not the only one who looks at things like this. :D

Great movie choices and a wonderful original theme for a lens. I was hoping to see The Money Pit, and I loved the hotel in Somewhere In Time too, never white got that far north in Michigan. I added Bilbo's house from Lord Of The Rings as that was pretty unique. Blessed by an angel and well deserved.

Great lens idea. One quick note, you have The Shining listed twice. :)

Thank you! We've removed the duplicate listing (wouldn't want to bias the voting by listing one an extra time!)

Interesting lens! May I suggest Gaslight? The original Anton Walbrook version...

I loved the Shining. That creepy hotel really set the scene and brought chills to my spine

Hi. I'd like to nominate Impromptu - not the most accurate bio of George Sand and not the best performance by Hugh Grant as a wimpy and virginal Chopin, but the music is glorious and the period settings (19th century Europe) are appropriately lush - not to mention the landscapes. Ignore the disorganization and read Sand's novels and memoirs, but watch this film anyway for a trip back in time and the chance to vicariously hob-nob with the likes of Liszt, Delacroix, Sand, and Chopin (not to mention Emma Thompson, Mandy Patinkin, Bernadette Peters, Ralph Brown and my favorite -- Julian Sands!
