I am hooked on digital. In the beginning I swore I would never take digital photos, I'm not sure what happened to change my mind but my poor film camera is sitting on a shelf in the closet. Great lens!!!

I much prefer digital, but it is important to note that .jpg files degrade a bit everytime you resave them. To preserve all the pixels in your images, save them as TIF files.

The convenience of digital and the ability to edit the photos/video easily using software, makes digital a clear winner in my book.

I've been asking a few people asking if you know anything about the new Sonys? I came across http://www.digitalcamerareviews2011.com and they appear to have a few good reviews but I'm still unsure if I should buy one. I'm looking to use it for scenic shooting and I'm not too sure what a good camera for that would be

Both film and digital are good, if you want a simple and more customizable one, choose digital, if you want some good memories and image quality, choose film, but I just have my Nikon S210 for digital.

I think that both film and digital cameras have a place in modern photography. There's a reason people spend tons of post time giving photographs a "film look." There are some good points on www.filmordigital.wordpress.com if any of you are interested in reading some more on the topic. It seems that film is definitely better as far as resolution and dynamic range, but it's getting to the point where the naked eye may not be able to discern these high quality details.

Love the slide show. Got to be digital for me - I am running out of space to store all the photos I have taken over the years! I am not a fan of Monkey Brain lenses but this one is just soooo well presented and makes such really good points that I just must Bless it!

Hi - thanks for publishing this. I am a big fan of film for black and white photography, but use digital most of the time. There is a real problem getting good quality developing and printing of B&W film now at a sensible price.

great debate. i learned with film and switched to digital. i really love editing digital images. also, film has a gelatin coating, and i'm vegetarian, so i like to avoid it.

Thanks - this is a thought-provoking lens. I personally prefer digital, but that's because I've never taken the time to master film. I will have to explore further...
