Final Fantasy IV is a console role-playing game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) in 1991 as a part of the Final Fantasy series. In May 2007, Square Enix announced that it was developing a remake of the game for the Nintendo DS which was released on July 22nd 2008.
The player takes the role of Cecil, a Dark Knight from the kingdom of Baron, on his journey to save the world from the evil Golbez. Struggling to prevent Golbez from acquiring powerful Crystals, Cecil learns of his heritage and travels through three realms to battle Golbez's minions. His lover, best friend, and other warriors join him for the adventure. (read more)

One of the Best Final Fantasies Reborn
Final Fantasy 4 DS is how any Final Fantasy remake should be done. It's old school charm comes out a lot (particularly in the difficulty), but at least Final Fantasy IV gets more than just a facelift. With new quests, story sequences, an ability system and a refined script, Final Fantasy IV is worth picking up even if you played the original to death.

- I think the top FF games rank as thus:
1. FFX
2. FFVII
3. FFXII
4. FFIX
5. FFIV
There are a couple reasons why I think X is the best. The battle system was a welcome change to the series, and added a new depth of strategy. Being the first game for the PS2 also helps = Stunning visuals with awesome gameplay. The biggest reason why I think FFX is the best is because of the intimacy of the game. It really made me identify with the characters, especially Yuna.
FFVII is second just because it's for the PS. Awesome characters. The whole Genova alien thing was kinda weird, but I got over it. If they ever make a remake for the PS3, I know it would be spectacular (if that ever happens I'm switching FFX and FFVII)
FFXII was a little too grandiose and not intimate enough for me. Gameplay was awesome, even better than FFX, but I never got the feeling of closeness with any of the characters.
FFIX and FFIV are both solid games. They just don't match the others in overall quality though.
