The direst sequel to Final Fantasy XIII is finally here! Taking place three years after the Final Fantasy XIII events, it depicts the story of Serah Farron's journey across space and time to what else, prevent the end of the world of course, all the while searching for her lost sister, Lightning.
The reviews are in and Final Fantasy XIII-2 is a winner! Japanese gaming enthusiasts rate it a solid 10 out of 10 while western gamers give it a 8 out of 10 thumbs up. It just keeps getting better and better.
Available on both the Sony Playstation 3 and Microsoft XBox 360 platforms, Final Fantasy XIII is destined to be one of the greats.

Lightning and Serah
Lightning - Protector of the goddess who rules the realm of death and chaos and the sister of Sarah.Sarah - Searches the realm for her fated sister Lightning, never doubting that she will find and reunite with her despite insurmountable odds.
Three years into the future, Sarah is saved by a stranger, Noel who bears an important message about Lightning, ""She is waiting for you", he says. "Come with me if you want to see her again".
Sarah, with newfound hope, sets off on an epic adventure to reunite with her long lost sister, Lightning.
Valhalia
There is a cool and mysterious new world called Valhalla. It's the realm of death and chaos at the edge of time in the distant future, surrounded by a shrine and ruled by the Goddess Etro. It is located in an alternate dimension from Gran Pulse, referred to as the "invisible world".ZLightning is said to be able to see all of the history from Valhalia, but as of yet, the reason why remains a mystery.
Combat
Another new feature is the Paradigm Tune which helps you to customize the AI-controlled party members abilities that they utilize in battle.
Though you still control one out of a three member party, you will be able to initiate the Change Leader option which allows you to switch the party member you control during battle.
Monsters
You can even customize the monsters stats via leveling up with items and accessories that can change your monsters appearance.
There is also a new Feral Link system to allow you to access unique special abilities from the monsters by pressing a sequence of buttons once the synchronization gauge has been filled.
Certain enemy monsters can also do a new form of damage (oh great!) called Blood Damage. It lowers your max HP during battle and cannot be healed. THat gives you further incentive to defeat your enemies as quickly as possible.

Serendipity
An exciting and totally cool new feature are the difficulty modes, both normal and easy depending on your mood. You can also save the game at any point from the main menu.
Conclusion
There have been major improvements in the explorations and game play in this latest release. This is the second Final Fantasy game to receive a perfect score from the japanese magazine Famitsu. The first to receive it was Final Fantasy XII Denegki.
Awesome gaming, awesome, characters, awesome battles. Final Fantasy XIII-2 delivers this and more.

- Hello and happy make a friend day :) I pre-ordered FF 13-2 and am glad I did. It turned out to be a great game although WAY too easy and WAY to short for a Final Fantasy title.
