Grants are attractive because unlike loans, they do not have to be paid back. But make no mistake . . . grants are not a free lunch. After meeting certian criteria and receiving government grant money, the grantee is expected to meet certain obligations among which are submitting progress reports on the endeavor for which the grant was first issued.
