In order for you to find a long lost friend you need to know several great tips and websites which will help you in achieving your goal.

This page will cover:

- How to find your lost friend if you know where did he/she graduated

- How to use people search services for locating lost buddies

- Three Important things to know in order to find your long lost friend

- How to use social networking sites to your advantage of finding your buddy

Let's get started!

How to find your long-lost friend if you know where did he/she graduated

If the person you're look for graduated high school or college in US or Canada what I'm about to tell you is going to be VERY useful to you.

There are many websites which search for graduates of certain high schools/colleges. Two of them are with the biggest member base:

- Reunion
- Classmates

Reunion focuses more on finding high school friends while Classmates college friends. I recommend you to go and sign up on both of them. Why?

Because many people are not registered on both websites. Suppose you registered on Reunion but your friend was registered and active on Classmates...uh.

So go there and register (the link for Reunion, the link for Classmates) and after you do that come here and scroll down. I got some pretty neat information for you :)

How to use people search services for locating lost buddies

What I'm talking about here is public records. If you don't know what public records are, let me give you a definition:
- "records which are available to the public, such as birth marriage, death, tax and land records"

Public records are awesome for locating long lost friends. The best free websites that offer these types of services are:

- Whitepages
- Superpages
- Zabasearch

In order to use them in the most effective manner, you should know several tips provided below.

And now, some "social search engines"

The chances your friend is somewhere there on Hi5 or Myspace and has an active profiles are huge.

That's why you need to search through these.

But wait a minute...there are hundreds of social networking services out there! How the heck I am going to search through them all?

There's a solution to that. Some websites, like Wink or 123 People allow you to search through multiple websites like this.

The good news is that Wink was recently bought by Reunion and they plan pretty soon to release 100% free service which will search for more than 400 million people. But for now, let's stick with the best we've got ;)

Locate a person website

Well if you're serious about finding that person then you should visit my website on how to locate a person where you have the secrets to find over half a billion people.

Some of the pages there include:

locate a person by name
locate a person by address
locate a person by phone number

Some things to consider when finding a long lost friend

  1. Get as many relevant information about the person as possible. For example, if his/her name is John Doe and lives in California that isn't going to help much because there might be 1000s of John Doe's who live in California. But if you know how old is he/she, where did he finished school, where did he work then your chances for finding that person are WAY higher.
  2. Use any information as your starting point. If you have his previous phone number, Google it or enter it in some of the search engines I gave you. You'll get plenty of fresh information. The more information you have about that person, the larger your starting points are.
  3. You may not get to that person directly though. Do you know someone who used to know that person? You might want to send him/her message if you find him on Reunion or Classmates, for example, and he might provide you with more information.

What to do if you can't find your friend directly?

Your last hope for finding your friend is by doing what most private investigators do: Use networking. Find people who knew that person using some of the websites above.

For example, if your friend had a social networking profile on Hi5 see who left him most comments on his pictures. Contact these people and ask him about him/her. You get my point?

I wish you good luck!
