We ALL Love A Bargain!

While authentic Persian or Oriental area rugs are a worthy investment and will serve you for years to come, they are also prohibitively expensive. If you do not have the budget to afford such expensive choices, you still have the option of enhancing the décor of your home by choosing from a large selection of cheap rugs.

No matter how tight your budget, you'd be sure to find yourself a real bargain at some of these places:

Discount Stores

Discount stores such as Wal-Mart sell area rugs that are very cheap. These rugs are made out of synthetic fabrics and will not wear very well, but will look nice on your floor for a couple of years.

You may be limited when it comes to styles, but they actually have some nice imitation Oriental and Persian rugs at this store as well as other discount chains. You can usually get a room sized polypropylene area rug for under $100 at a discount store.

Online Shopping

My Favorite Way To Shop

There are hundreds of discount online rug shops. Take a look at what they have to offer.

Whether you want a cheap area rug or an authentic rug, you can find whatever you want online. Thanks to the internet, there are more options available than ever when it comes to shopping for rugs, whether they are expensive or cheap.

An online rug shop like www.HouseOfAreaRugs.com has an amazing range of rugs. The great thing about shopping for rugs online is that they are so easy to look at. Flip through pages of rugs instead of having to flip heavy rugs in the store.

Online shopping makes finding a rug easy.

Home Improvement Stores

Home improvement stores such as Lowes or Home Depot stock an endless variety of area rugs. While they more expensive than rugs bought at discount shops, they are of better quality and are much cheaper than rugs bought from designer rug stores. An authentic Oriental rug or Persian rug could set you back more than $1,000 at a rug store, but if you purchased an imitation at the home improvement store, you could get a pretty good looking rug for under $200. For many people, this is a much more viable option. Imitation rugs may cost you a bit more at a home improvement store but you will certainly find a bigger and better selection of rugs to choose from.

Second Hand Shops

Check out thrift stores for rugs. In most cases, you can get a better quality rug for a lot less money in a thrift store. Many people decide to change their décor and just get rid of old rugs. You might be able to purchase a rug that originally cost a couple of thousand dollars for a huge discount at a second hand shop. You can then have the rug professionally cleaned and it will be as good as new for you home.

Antique Shops

If you are looking for an antique rug, there is no better place to shop than an antique shop. These rugs can be very inexpensive, but you have to know what you are purchasing. Something old is not necessarily something of high quality. However, if you are looking for a used rug with some character, there is no better place than an antique shop in which to look.
