Finding A Hot Market By Using Good Keywords

You've decided to start a new website to make some money and so you want to find a hot market online. The obvious next question is...

HOW TO FIND A HOT MARKET ?

If you're just starting out or doing this on a budget, you will want a free way to find a hot market. So let me tell you about GoodKeywords.

Go to www.GoodKeywords.com and download their software at no cost. Yes, it is genuine freeware! After you've installed it (simple!), you type your main keyword or keyphrase into GoodKeywords and click the Go button.

If you're connected to the internet, the software will find you a collection of related keywords and keyphrases. The screen then tells you what is happening.

GoodKeywords will also tell you how many times each of those keyphrases has been searched for in each of the search engines that you've selected to query (they are named on the tabs along the top).

When it's finished, the bigger the number, the more popular that term is with searchers. And that can translate into you earning more money from your new site.

HOW TO GET STARTED WITH GOODKEYWORDS ?

What if you don't have ANY idea of what to search for in the first place?

You need something to get the ball rolling. You need a way to stimulate a few possibilities for you to check out. Here's what to do.

Here is a simple technique that will generate a lot of possibilities to get you started.

Type in a wide-ranging single word like... "cure"... or "remove"... or "find".

Or type in several wide-ranging words like... "how to"... or "set up".

As it happens, the Overture.com site is not available right now while I am writing so I'll use the Overture UK site for our demo here.

I searched on the single word "prevent" and GoodKeywords shows me 100 results, all the way from...

"how to prevent bladder infection" with 342 searches

... down to "folliculitis leg prevent" with only 8 searches. Notice with this one how the words are not necessarily in the same order that the 8 people doing that particular search would have typed. No problem. That happens. And we don't let it distract us.

One of these search terms will most likely capture your attention and be worth investigating.

In this case, I rather like "prevent hair loss" which comes in as result #3 on the GoodKeywords results list. It had 270 searches.

So--- we set out to find a hot market using GoodKeywords. And we've found one. Preventing hair loss. And that was easy, wasn't it?

How I Find Hot Markets That Pay Well

Part 1

By Gary Harvey

There are 2 ways to make $100. You can sell 100 items with a $1 profit on each sale. Or you can sell 2 products, each paying you $50 of profit.

Now which is easier? Sure, we could sell 5 products that each pay $20 of profit. Or 4 at $25 each, etc. And I am sure you get the point here... which is that high-paying affiliate commissions are mighty attractive.

So let me point you quickly to one of the easiest, most accessible ways (there are others - read on...) to find hot markets that PAY WELL.

We will be using the "Earned Per Sale" data from ClickBank. If you don't care what you're promoting as long as it's profitable, then this will interest you.

Side comment: Obviously, if you have a site about the health benefits of drinking juices, you will not be trying to promote a system that claims to beat the odds at the casino. Right? Your site has to be relevant to the product.

How I Find Hot Markets That Pay Well

Part 2

HOW TO FIND A HANDFUL OF TOP-PAYING PRODUCTS:

Step 1.

Go to www.ClickBank.com and then navigate to their Marketplace.

In the search panel at the top, there are only 2 fields that we want to change away from their default settings. One is the Category - it won't work if you don't. And also the "Sort By" field. For that, select "$ Earned/Sale".

Here's what I just found:

In the Business to Business category, the top payer will earn me $87.94 per sale.

In Health & Fitness, the highest paying items pays $95.24 every time.

In Home & Family, the payout is $96.17
In Computing & Internet, it' $87.94
In Money & Employment, it's $78.38
In Marketing & Ads, it's $90.21
In Fun & Entertainment, it's $67.49 per sale.
In Sports & Recreation, the payout is $100 for every sale I generate.
In Society & Culture, it's $96.17

Now, all that remains is to see how popular these top high-paying products are.

Step 2.

We will now do another quick search of the ClickBank Marketplace, but this time we will be setting "Sort By" to Popularity. If the same products that came up near the top of your first search also come near the top of your second search, bingo. You have found a hot product that is selling well and pays well. In fact, you've got a handful of them.

SUMMARY: How do you find hot markets that pay well? Search the Marketplace at ClickBank.com, paying attention to the "Earned Per Sale" information as well as Popularity.

I wish you hot markets and growing profits.

Finding A Hot Niche - Two Ways

Part 1

Do you think you'd like to start an Internet business because of the exciting possibilities it offers for self-directed success? What product or service should you offer? How will you keep abreast of the competition?

You might already have a great product of your own in mind and you just want to test it to make sure it would sell. In that case, check out affiliate programs for similar products. If they're selling well, it's likely that yours will too.

Of course, finding a way to make yours especially attractive will help you beat the competition. You can, for example, offer free shipping or establish an informative newsletter that will build a loyal base of customers and fans to help spread word of mouth about you.

FOR EXAMPLE, HAM RADIOS

Let's say you have a passion for ham radios. You eat, breathe and sleep them.

Now, there are quite a few ham radio equipment sellers online, but what if you set up a mailing list and a monthly newsletter about the latest news in ham radios that visitors to your site could subscribe to for free?

And then, what if you also sold ham radio equipment and accessories at competitive prices?

Maybe even "Tell two friends about my newsletter here (provide a handy text box for them to type their e-mail addresses right in there on your site) and you get $3 off your order."

Bingo, two ham radio enthusiasts come to your site effortlessly, thus increasing word of mouth and potential customer base.

Finding A Hot Niche - Two Ways

Part 2

FINDING A HOT NICHE - TWO WAYS

If you're not sure what you want to sell, eBay and Amazon Marketplace offer two means to help determine current "hot niche" trends by going online and simply researching top sellers.

Once you find something you think you'd like to sell, your next steps are similar to what you would do if you want to test a product you're already passionate about, as described above.

* Check out affiliate programs of similar products to see if they're selling well.

* If at all possible, find a way to provide interesting content that relates to your product.

* Establish a mailing list and share your thoughts about your niche topic.

BENEFITS

Not only does this give you a ready customer base and growth through word of mouth as one of the channels, but it provides you a way to test new (related) products you may be considering.

It also helps you keep abreast of what customers like, want and need, keeping your finger on the pulse of the market so that you can make changes as trends require. After all, your subscribers should represent a good cross-section of the very market you serve.

The possibilities are endless!

Hidden Market Research on Ebay, Amazon, and Others

Part 1

By Kim Roach

Are you looking to provide interesting content to your visitors?
How about popular in-demand products? Do you know what your
target customer is really searching for online?

No worries. You are about to discover that there are literally
thousands of untapped markets just waiting at your fingertips.
To get started, let's go on a little virtual journey.

Our first stop is on the huge metropolis of eBay. This may be
your favorite place to shop online, but did you know that it is
also one of the most valuable sources of keyword and market
research?

To mine eBay for the true gold, you have to dig a little deeper
into their online treasure chest. Let's begin our search at eBay
Pulse (http://pulse.ebay.com/), where you can get a daily
snapshot of current trends, hot picks, and popular search terms.
On this page, you will be finding out which keywords and phrases
people are searching for the most on eBay. From there, you can
then dig down into categories.

To do this, simply click on the drop-down menu right above where
the popular searches are listed. This will allow you to find the
most popular searches by category and sub-category.

Don't take eBay Pulse for granted. They are basically handing
you a proven business model on a silver platter. From this one
page, you can find out exactly which products are in highest
demand.

Let's take a further look at some additional hot product items.
To do this, go to
http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/sellbycategory.html .
On this page, you can search by category to find out about
insider selling strategies, which items are in demand, and the
most popular searches. Take your time here. There's lots to
learn and many treasures to uncover.

I would also advise you to check out the Hot Categories Report
(http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/hotitems.pdf), which is
updated monthly to show you the most in-demand products in each
and every category.

With the holiday's right around the corner, eBay has even
created a 2006 Holiday Hot List
(http://pages.ebay.com/holidayhotlist2006/) which gives a
detailed list of products predicted to be in high demand and
short supply this holiday season.

Your next stop is at eBay Keywords (http://buy.ebay.com). This
is a directory of thousands of highly popular terms that people
search for on eBay. This is invaluable information because these
are keywords that have proven profit potential.

Hidden Market Research on Ebay, Amazon, and Others

Part 2

Other valuable eBay Tools:

Popular Keywords: http://popular.ebay.com/ Find the most popular
items in any category.

http://product-index.ebay.com/best_selling_1.html - Browse the
most popular products on eBay, sorted by category.

The next part of our journey will take us to a web site that you
are probably very familiar with. It's time to slip on over to
Amazon.com. This online hot spot is one of the most popular
online shopping destinations, but it is also a remarkable free
research tool for Internet marketers.

Within each of their 35 product categories, there is a "Top
Sellers" tab at the top of the page. So, for instance, if you
sell fitness equipment, you can quickly find out which items,
and which types of items are best sellers on Amazon.

You still need to do your own testing and research to see which
products sell best on your own site to your unique audience, but
the Amazon top sellers can certainly give you a very strong
starting point.

Amazon is one of the most underused sources for market research.
However, if used properly, it could be your own personal gold
mine. One of the best places to start on Amazon in order to find
an untapped niche is in the magazine section. Here, they list
over 80,000 magazines.

Magazine topics are profitable by their very nature because they
only exist if a large number of people are willing to buy them.
Therefore, just knowing that there is a magazine on a particular
topic shows that there is a particular group of people that
are passionate about that topic and are willing to spend money
on their interests.

The last time I dug through some of the magazines at Amazon I
found some really good markets. They included sea kayaking, fly
fishing, and retirement planning. Retirement planning is
definitely an upcoming trend with all of the aging baby-boomers.

Once you find a magazine that appeals to a certain sub-culture,
order some back-issues. Thumb through the older versions and
find which advertisers have been advertising their product in
multiple issues. By doing this, you'll know which products your
target audience is buying.

If you're like me and like to save money, you could just go to
your local library and look through the back-issues there.

Hidden Market Research on Ebay, Amazon, and Others

Part 3

Amazon.com can also be used to tap into a wide range of trends.
Simply check out their top-selling magazines, which are updated
every day. Using the Amazon movers and shakers tool, you can tap
into the latest trends before the rest of the online marketers
ever think about catching up to you.

Our last stop online is at the Learning Annex
(http://www.learningannex.com). This site is a comprehensive
list of adult education classes that are available online. As
you probably know, information is one of the hottest selling
products online. In fact, information is the number one reason
that people even go online.

By finding out what people are paying to learn about, you can
uncover a multitude of profitable niches. Here are just a few
of the niches I discovered the last time I explored the
Learning Annex:

* Real Estate

* How to learn a foreign language

* How to create gift baskets for fun and profit

* How to become a special event / party planner

* How to talk to your cat

* How to make money doing voice overs on Radio & TV

* How to become a successful travel writer

* Speed Reading

* How to be a mystery shopper

Are you starting to see the unlimited amount of opportunities?

Well, we're almost to the end of our journey. I have saved one
of my very best tips for last. It is a free marketing magazine
called Direct Mag (www.directmag.com). Every month, this magazine
contains a feature known as List line, which shows announcements
of mailing lists, their number of subscribers, and what and how
much of a product they are buying. Directmag.com will show you
exactly what people are buying and how much of it they are
buying. This is an invaluable free resource that I would highly
suggest you take advantage of.

Profit Analysis

Now that you have found some niche topics that you think could
be successful, it's time to see if those markets are truly
profitable.

One of the best ways to do this is to search actual eBay
listings related to your niche. Count exactly how many listings
there are under your chosen topic. Then, take a look at how many
people are actually bidding on those items. Do you see any
bidding wars? If so, you've definitely found a hot market.

Hidden Market Research on Ebay, Amazon, and Others

Part 4

Next, go into Google and type in your keyword phrase. Make sure
that you use a targeted phrase. For example, I might type
"model hovercraft kits" into the Google search engine. If the
results show 600,000 or less results than this is potentially
a good market to target.

If the number is much higher than this, you should probably look
for a different market that has less competition.

Remember, you are looking for a niche that you can dominate. It
is much easier to find a very targeted market than to try and
compete with companies like Microsoft and Wal-Mart.

To further analyze this markets profit potential, you'll want
to go into the Overture suggestion tool
(http://www.pixelfast.com/overture/) and look for the top 3
highest bids. If the number 3 bid is under 30 cents, then this
market may not be a profitable market that you want to go after.

Here are a few questions you should ask yourself about your
potential market:

* Is this market wildly passionate about their interests?
* Do they have their own events?
* Do they have their own celebrities among this market?
* Are there magazines that target this particular topic?
* Does a typical member of your target market have a credit card?
* Are there related products being sold to them online?
* Does a typical member of your target market have disposable income?
* Are members of your target market buying products online?
* Are advertisers paying good money to advertise to your target market online?

If you answered yes to most of these questions, then you have probably found a profitable niche.

The many in-demand products and keywords that you find during
your search can transform into hundreds of different web sites,
info-products, and ebooks. They can also lead to successful
SEO and pay-per-click campaigns.

Just a few years ago, this kind of information would cost you thousands of dollars to access and now it's all free of charge. All you need is an Internet connection.

There are literally millions of untapped markets, it's just a matter of picking one.

Find Hot Selling Products

Part 1

Are you looking to cash in on part of the lucrative Internet marketplace by selling hot products with resale rights? And what are "hot selling products," anyway?

"Hot selling products" are products people want to buy, plain and simple. How do you find out what products are hot selling products?

Do some research and find out what your customers want or need. Your job is to make sure your hot selling product will fill that want or need. Customers will also have "expectations" as to what this product will do for them and satisfying expectations will help you differentiate your hot selling product from other products of similar description in the marketplace.

Next, determine what your competition is. Again, satisfying customer expectations is what will help differentiate your product from the competition's.

Let's say, just for the sake of argument, that you decide on a fishing pole as your hot selling product. Now, there are lots of fishing poles out there, but just what is it that makes yours special compared to the one from Joes-fishing-hole.com?

Maybe your product has a waterproofed BlackBerry built right into the handle of the fishing pole so that the avid fisherman (or woman) can handle email and other business while waiting for the next nibble without ever letting go of the pole and thus risking letting the "big one" get away. That puts you one step ahead of Joe.

Or maybe it comes with a killer high-frequency lure that fish can't resist so that they absolutely lunge at the hook. Again, sorry, Joe.

You get the idea. And while it may not be likely that you'll come up with a BlackBerry-bearing, lure-beeping fishing pole any time soon, you can still give the competition a run for their money. You can do this by making sure your product does what it says (even if it's just a good sturdy fishing pole with Uncle Ed's favorite brand of lucky lure and nothing more), you're priced competitively, you have excellent customer service and never drop the ball (and maybe you even offer free shipping or a "free with purchase" extra, too, like Uncle Ed's lucky lure).

Find Hot Selling Products

Part 2

Ultimately, consumers will decide who wins the competition in a given segment of the market with a particular type of product. This is as true online as it is in the traditional market. Again, research will help you determine just what that means for your hot selling product so that you set yourself up for success as a potential leader in the market, with at least a chance to challenge any incumbent leaders.

Of course, it stands to reason that you'll know there's a substantial need and interest level in your hot selling product as well. Pretty substantial for fishing poles, maybe not so much for sonic slingshots.

Finally, what are you going to do to advertise your hot selling product? Again, look to the competition to see what's out there and working, then use keyword phrases (like "best fishing pole" to optimize your website (and therefore product) ranking, so people can find you.

Did you find these tips useful? You can learn a lot more about finding hot selling products and hot markets at http://FindHotMarkets.com

How to Spot The Markets that Are Blazing with Buyers

Part 1

Every Entrepreneur has to start with a HOT MARKET market.
The best way to start any business is with success, that means many visitors looking for your business, wanting your products, and eagerly buying from you.
Imagine the problem of having to fulfill TOO MANY ORDERS.

But it seems that we have the great ideas and that the market really does not understand what a marvelous product we have to offer.
So before you start any business, before you spend a dime on the business, before you jump into any business opportunities, do your homework.
Write your business plan.
For more information, look at my free resource page at:

When writing your business plan, the most critical part is to define your positioning statement.
Positioning has everything to do with:
Who is your buyer.
This is the focus of this article:
To help you define an ideal Buyer, or more precisely, your target Group of Buyers -market segment. from the very start.
It will give you a powerful, practical, method to concentrate your efforts in a particular Group of Buyers, niche, or market segments.
This is what will improve your chances of success.

This article is best read with a piece of paper and pencil so that you WRITE DOWN ALL OF YOUR IDEAS AS THEY POP UP!
Please, no censorship allowed at this stage, let the creative YOU flow freely into the process.
Write them down.

How to Spot The Markets that Are Blazing with Buyers

Part 2

First.
It is very important that you truly enjoy what you will be doing.
Choose a buyer that you can identify with, that you share common values, tastes, habits, and that you feel happy dealing with.
People that share your interests in school subjects, experience on the job, hobbies, or the long sought out dream, are good candidates.
Choose a group of buyers that you like, that you know about, and that you have experience with.
These three elements will improve your probabilities of success spectacularly.
If you choose a market you have no knowledge in, the first stage in your investment will go into learning, and that will take no less than six months of very hard work, and no returns -be realistic.
This step should be broad in perspective, we are narrowing your choices down to a manageable target.

Second,
Ask the question:
Who is my group of buyers?

Who is my group of buyers?
Gender: Gals, Guys, Gays, Lesbian, ...

Age groups:
Babies, Kids, teenagers, young adults, mature adults, seniors,...

Income groups:
Poor, lower middle class, middle class, upper middle class, rich, very rich, extremely rich...

Who are they in a family?
Babies, children, sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, grand moms, grandads, boyfriends, girlfriends, expectant moms, wives, husbands,...

Who are they socially?
Teachers -Kinder, primary, high school, college; workers -clerks, fast food, factory; professionals -doctors, lawyers, dentists; fans and athletes -divide by sport and by team, football, basketball, baseball, soccer -attention: World Cup coming up! Collectors -stamps, coins, bills, beer mugs, matchboxes, ashtrays, wine corks, records, cd's, videos; artists -musicians, painters, actors, clowns, comedians; politicians -lawmakers,

Who are they in their spare time?
Gardeners, yachters, hobbies -quilt making, knitting, magazine collectors, hunters,

Who are they in a place?
Car driver, fan, housekeeper, cook, web designer, hotel guest, tourist, host, visitor, shopper,

Who are they in time, special occassions?
Graduate, birthday, Santa Claus, spouse, Grandfather -Mom at Thanksgiving, groom, bride,

How to Spot The Markets that Are Blazing with Buyers

Part 3

Who are they in terms of how much they are willing to spend?
Price range
0-$5; 5 to $15; 15 to $30; 30 to $50; 50 to $100; More than $100

Who are they in terms of taste?
Avant Garde, progressive, adventurous, conservative; Style -Fashion, casual, Gothic, Vintage, formal; Size -Petit, Oversized, normal;

Who are they .... in terms of new categories applicable to your idea or intuition; the possibilities are endless, so set yourself a limit on time spent and questions asked.

When you have a good list of WHO YOUR GROUP OF BUYERS IS, close your eyes and imagine the buyer, at home, in front of the computer, reading your web site, buying your products.
It is very important to fix this picture in your mind. .All things are created twice.

It will help generate very profitable ideas.

Third,
What does your buyer want?
Now that you have a very clear picture in your mind and paper of who your Group of Buyers is going to be, think of what they want in relation to your list. What does your buyer want? Things to make money, be accepted, use, wear, give away, make, save, earn, to improve their role, as analyzed above.

Look for the most popular search terms used. Find a tool that gives you the most information : related search terms, number of searches performed using each keyword; and web sites competing for the same keyword, plus an index that measures the effectiveness of each keyword vs the number of searches and competing sites.

I highly recommend WORDTRACKER, use their free trial with all the above features.
It is the best I have found so far.

Another free tool is offered by Sitesell, none other than the powerful, Search It!

Or try both of course, it is well worth the time to invest in this step!

Example:
Note: I started with a preconceived notion of what I wanted to sell. The method guided me into a niche with a Group of Buyers that wanted to buy, and that I would be happy dealing with!

Let's look at the idea of a second hand clothing site.
You just love to look for bargains at flea markets, garage sales, wholesalers, and the newspaper.
You feel great discovering those fashion jewels amidst the pile of old stuff.

How to Spot The Markets that Are Blazing with Buyers

Part 4

Look at the Yahoo Gear shop,
http://store.yahoo.com/ygear/gals.html

They have the following categories:
GEAR
Gals - Guys
Accesories
Curiosities
Travel
Techie
Outdoor
Home/Office
Kids
Under $10

You would need all these categories if you did not do your homework! This is ok if you are going to compete head on with the mammoth companies in the world! But your potential strength lies in selling to a Group of Buyers that is large enough for you, but small enough that the larger companies haven't seen or have to compete with a modest budget.

Let's narrow our choice down:

Who is my Group of Buyers?
Gender, Gals
Age: young adults
Income groups: upper middle class

1. Who are they in a family? daughters, girlfriends, expectant moms, wives,...
2. Who are they socially? Teachers;
3. Who are they in their spare time? magazine readers,
4. Who are they in a place? housekeeper, cook, shopper.
5. Who are they in time, special occassions? Spouse, Mom at Thanksgiving, bride, daughter in-law;
6. Who are they in terms of how much they are willing to spend? Price range, confort zone, 15 to $50;
7. Who are they in terms of taste? Style -Fashion, casual; Size -normal;

Once you have chosen the group of buyers you think you would love to design, manufacture, buy, and sell for, it is time to look at your WordTracker free trial, Click her for a free trial

This is a sample of the results for search terms related to women, young adults, expectant moms:

How to Spot The Markets that Are Blazing with Buyers

Part 5

You should look for a Group of Buyers that is too small for companies to invest a large budget in, yet large enough for you, and a handful of competitors. If the Group of Buyers seems too small for the larger companies, and you hit the jackpot, YOU MAY VERY WELL BE THE NEXT FORTUNE SUCCESS STORY! Also, if the group of buyers proves to be too small even for a start up, then you will have to move to a different group of buyers.

You have to look for a good balance between a high KEI Index, and enough searches for the term to be worth your time. In this case, "baby shower games", and "baby names", would be great themes for a web site!

How to Spot The Markets that Are Blazing with Buyers

Part 6

An Internet business using affiliate programs, will be profitable so long as your revenue is greater than your cost of advertising. Of course, you want the profit to be significant in terms of the time you spend keeping the web site, contact management, placing the ads, and creating products for the Group of Buyers.

If profitable, continue with a longer term advertising campaign, and you have set up your first successful site. Build on your success, improving on the products you offer, reaping the profits of the Life Time Value of your Group of Buyers.

Start again....

You are now ready to test your results against the market, armed with a more thorough understanding of your buyers, what they want -WTW, and the keywords they are using to find sites they will buy from. Now you can get the domain name that is most appealing to your buyers, considering the search terms they will use to find you.
