5 Tips on Finding Happiness in Your Life

Myth:  happiness is a by-product of money
Truth:  money is a by-product of happiness

Many of us are so busy on this pursuit of happiness that we haven't stopped to really think about what our definition of happiness is.  We think that money is the key to happiness and in the short -term, yes, money may bring happiness, but what about the long-term?  What happens after you have all the money you need?

This lens is dedicated to finding happiness and after reading this you will be on your own journey to creating the life you've always dreamed of!

Tip #1: Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude

The first step in finding happiness is to start a gratitude journal and every single day write down five things that you can be grateful for. Be grateful for the food you have, the roof over your head, your toothpaste and toothbrush. The list is endless!

Tip #2: Dispel the idea that money will bring happiness

Think about people you know that have all the money in the world - especially celebrities and athletes. Do you think that they're life is perfect? They are followed by paparazzi who spread false rumors.

That's not to say that by acquiring more money, you'll have more problems. However, more money means more responsibility - Are you ready?

To me happiness is an emotion experience when reflecting on one's wealth and power. Wealth as an abundance of values (love, health, family, friends, money, etc.). Power as one's ability to create wealth for him/her self and others...

Happiness is spending time with friends, enjoying the sunshine, flowers, and all the beauty of nature. It's waking up each morning having a grateful attitude.

Tip #3: Find your passion

Doing what you love is probably one of the key steps to finding happiness. What is that one thing that you absolutely love to do? This is the thing that you get truly excited about. Why not start a business doing what you love? People who find their passion and do what they love are truly finding happiness! Do something you want to do and not what your family or friends want you to do!

Tip #4: Say happiness affirmations to yourself every day

Affirmations have proven to keep your mind focused on a goal. Keep in mind that your thoughts create your future! Here are examples of happiness affirmations you can say to yourself:

  • I choose to be happy at the start of each day
  • My happiness brings me more happiness
  • Happiness is always in my heart and soul
  • I intend on finding happiness in my life

    Tip #5: Dig deep within

Finding happiness is something that starts and ultimately ends with you. There is nothing or nobody out there that controls whether or not you are happy. You can't depend on money or a relationship to bring you true happiness. Finding happiness starts RIGHT NOW! Live in the moment!
