Truth:  money is a by-product of happiness

Many of us are so busy on this pursuit of happiness that we haven't stopped to really think about what our definition of happiness is.  We think that money is the key to happiness and in the short -term, yes, money may bring happiness, but what about the long-term?  What happens after you have all the money you need?

Tip #1: Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude

The first step in finding happiness is to start a gratitude journal and every single day write down five things that you can be grateful for. Be grateful for the food you have, the roof over your head, your toothpaste and toothbrush. The list is endless!

Tip #2: Dispel the idea that money will bring happiness

Think about people you know that have all the money in the world - especially celebrities and athletes. Do you think that they're life is perfect? They are followed by paparazzi who spread false rumors.

That's not to say that by acquiring more money, you'll have more problems. However, more money means more responsibility - Are you ready?

Tip #3: Find your passion

Doing what you love is probably one of the key steps to finding happiness. What is that one thing that you absolutely love to do? This is the thing that you get truly excited about. Why not start a business doing what you love? People who find their passion and do what they love are truly finding happiness! Do something you want to do and not what your family or friends want you to do!

5 stars... happiness is your decision! If you decide to be happy, you can be. If you don't, you won't. Odd that such an easy concept can get us into so much trouble!
