1. The first think to consider is the type of dentist you are looking for. Do you need to find a dentist with a specific specialty? Obviously any dentist should be able to do a routine cleaning but when more complicated procedures need to be done you want to make sure you find the best. 2. Where is the dentist located? You should try to find one nearby. This will make it easier for you to make it to your future routine check ups.

3. Will your insurance approve this dentist? It's always a good idea to call your insurance to be sure they will cover any visits you have with a particular dentist. This will help you avoid costly dental bills.

These three steps should help get you started in your search. Another good source of information are your friends and family. Ask around and see if they could recommend a specific dentist to you.
