Now it isn't often that you find inspiration in a dentist's chair - but word has it that the original story for Finding Nemo has it's roots in a dentist's office aquarium! Finding Nemo writer director Andrew Stanton put together his childhood experiences of living by the ocean, dentist's aqauriums and his own parenting experience to create this lovable story of a young fish who wants freedom, and a parent unable to let go.

The Story of Nemo The Rebel Fish
Nemo is the lovable clownfish star of the movie. He was the sole survivor of an attack by a baraccuda on the eggs which his father Marlin and mother Coral were so proudly protecting.Nemo survives but is born with a damaged fin. His father is very over protective of him and like all children, Nemo begins to go through a rebellious stage! He decides to disobey Marlin and swim towards a boat. He is captured by the diver on the boat and taken to an aquarium in a dentist's office in Sydney.
Nemo awaits his fate at the hand of the 'fish killer' Darla, the dentist's niece.

Finding Nemo is one of my favorite movies. A great Disney Pixar movie which all of the family can enjoy. The story of Nemo and the rebellion which leads him to a great adventure, and his father Marlin desperate to find his beloved son.

It is understandable that Marlin is very protective of Nemo. He loses his wife Coral and Nemo is the sole survivor of a baracuda attack.
Marlin takes this to the extreme by telling Nemo that he can't do things and not letting him go his own way and make his own mistakes.
Marlin is devastated when Nemo is captured and embarks on a long journey to find him.

- I also love Pixar. I have a lens on the movie "Up" and another one on "Pixar short films". Of their feature films, Nemo is my favorite! Pixar has such a great story. When they started out they were seen as misfits (people argued animated movies should be hand-drawn, not digitally created on computers), and look where they are now. :-)
