Purpose in Life

Do you ever find yourself lost, wondering why you have that boring job, life that sucky life, knowing that you have a much greater purpose...that YOU...you are meant for GREATNESS.

I drift away sometimes, thinking how great it would be if plots in movies could become my life...that I could be Neo in "The Matrix", fly up into the sky, bend the rules, be...*The One*.

Or be a superhero like Will Smith in Hancock, immortal, invincible, superstrong, be able to fly and not be limited by the rules which govern our world.

How about Wesley Allen Gibson in the recent movie wanted. I think a lot of people feel what he feels, sometimes I do:

"lately I find myself caring less and less about things, the only thing I care about is that I don't care about anything anymore...it really worries me"

Living a bad life, having a job you hate, until it turns around one day and you find out you are have super assasin skills.

*Back to Reality for a Second*

I Believe the mind is incredibly powerful and the statement I choose to live by is:
My perception of Reality IS REALITY

The thing is, you can see it in two ways, and there is lots of evidence to support both ways, and I HAVE NO IDEA which is the correct view.

One the one hand you can say that there is a governing body or a script the way life is supposed to go and everyones role is laid out for them down to the T.

This would mean that we have no choice whatsoever, and that although it may constantly seem that we do have a choice, whether to stand up or sit down, go left or right, we have already made the choice and it is all an illusion.

As long as time keeps progressing, events will play out.

The flipside is that our destiny is constantly changing. That we DO have a choice, and every choice we make has an influence on our destiny and many many other factors.

The movie 'Next' is a great example of how this would work, being about a guy who can only see 2 minutes into the future, but everytime he sees the future, it changes again. Watch it, its awesome!

This would fall under the Chaos effect, where every action has a ripple effect and can have huge consquences. A butterfly that flaps its wings in the amazon rainforest creates a change in the atmosphere and then creates a hurricane in Japan.

Maybe you drop a diamond ring on the sidewalk, the president of a country bends down to pick it up, slips and tragically dies. The country is taken over by a dictator, and a global war erupts...because of that one action of dropping a simple ring.

I know that is extreme, I was trying to demonstrate the power and possible extent of one miniscule action.

To me it seems that sometimes things are so much of a coincidence that its just not possible that its all random.

A best friend you havent seen for years, all of a sudden you think of him, and a day later he calls you?

Meeting a girl from Cape Town South Africa that I met on a modelling casting in a random clothing shop on Mallorca. What are the chances?

Chatting to a girl in a global chatroom, and she ended up being my neighbour???

These are just a few of those uncanny things Ive experienced, to me it seems there is some sort of universal energy you can pick up on if you are intuitive enough, and this must mean that to some extent the future is already determined.

Although the words are used interchangeably in many cases, fate and destiny can be distinguished. Modern usage defines fate as a power or agency that predetermines and orders the course of events. Fate defines events as ordered or "inevitable". Fate is used in regard to the finality of events as they have worked themselves out; and that same sense of finality, projected into the future to become the inevitability of events as they will work themselves out, is Destiny. In classical and European mythology, there are three goddesses dispensing fate, The "Fates" known as Moirae in Greek mythology, as Parcae in Roman mythology, and Norns in Norse mythology; they determine the events of the world through the mystic spinning of threads that represent individual human destinies.

One word derivative of "fate" is "fatality", another "fatalism". Fate implies no choice, and ends fatally, with a death. Fate is an outcome determined by an outside agency acting upon a person or entity; but with destiny the entity is participating in achieving an outcome that is directly related to itself. Participation happens willfully.
