Timeless Rarities Fine Quality Coins on eBay and www.timelessrarities.com
Wecome to the Timeless Rarities Fine Quality Coins Squidoo homepage!
We have been coin collectors for over 50 years and have been selling some of the "finest" coins on eBay since 1997. In one way, you could say that we were one of the FIRST to ever sell coins on the internet since we started selling on eBay as one of a very few coin sellers at that time.
Our business name is Timeless Rarities, Inc. and we have had the honor and the privilege to sell Certified Morgan Dollars, Silver Eagles, BU Rolls, Certified Gold, Proof and Mint Sets and many other varieties of coins for the past TEN years.
We pride ourselves on not only finding the "finest" coins available, but honestly describing them in detail with large scans to view each coin in total detail.
It is our opinion that it is NOT the number of total feedbacks that are most important to a seller on eBay, it is the total number of positive feedbacks in relation to the total feedback numbers. This indicates the amount of repeat business that one attains in his selling efforts. If you are a successful seller on eBay, you will acquire many repeat buyers who express their overall satisfaction with their repeat business.
Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out our current listings on eBay!
TRUE AMERICAN HEROES COIN
One of our favorite coins is an actual 2001 U.S. Silver American Eagle (pictured to the right) that has been colorized displaying the TRUE AMERICAN HEROES of September 11, 2001, a police officer and firefighters on the front, "Old Glory" on the reverse. The tragedies of 9/11 will remain with us forever. However, we must also never forget the heroism of our firefighters, police officers and the other rescue personnel during this tragic event. This colorized Silver Eagle commemorates these American Heroes.
This is a MUST coin for EVERYONE and it is available on our website and on our eBay auctions!

New Wikipedia on State Quarters
The 50 State Quarters program () is the release of a series of commemorative coins by the United States Mint. Between 1999 and 2008, it featured each of the 50 individual U.S. states on unique designs for the reverse of the quarter.
In 2009, the U.S. Mint started issuing quarters under the 2009 District of Columbia and U.S. Territories Program, authorized by the passage of . This program features the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Northern Mariana Islands.Noles, Jim. A Pocketful of History: Four Hundred Years of America -- One State Quarter at a Time (Boston: Da Capo Press, 2009). Although commonly mistaken as part of the 50 State Quarters Program, it is a separate program recognized by the U.S. Mint.
The program was conceived as a means of creating a new generation of coin collectors, and in that it succeeded.David L. Ganz, "The Official Guidebook to America's State Quarters", Random House, 2000. The 50 State Quarters program became the most successful numismatic program in history, with roughly half of the U.S. population collecting the coins, either in casual manner or as a serious pursuit. The U.S. federal government so far has made a profit of $4.6 billion from collectors taking the coins out of circulation.

Vince Grimaldi remembers Jan. 21, 1980, the final day of the last big gold bubble.
"It was like a Broadway opening," said Grimaldi, a salesman at the Valley Gold & Silver Exchange in San Jose. "People were lined up outside the building and around the corner. People were taking $1,000, $2,000 out of their bank accounts and running in to get some gold coins, silver, whatever. They'd buy whatever we had on hand."
In that uncertain environment of inflation and high interest rates, investors abandoned stocks and bonds and turned to gold as it rose to a record $850 an ounce.
The current environment would seem to be the exact opposite, except for one item: Gold prices have risen sharply this past year. The spot price of gold is near the widely watched threshold of $300.

New Wikipedia on the U.S. Mint
The United States Mint primarily produces circulating coinage for the United States to conduct its trade and commerce. The main Mint facility is located in Washington, D.C., and branch facilities are located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Denver, Colorado; San Francisco, California; and West Point, New York.
The Mint was created by Congress with the Coinage Act of 1792, and placed within the Department of State. Per the terms of the Coinage Act, the first Mint building was located in Philadelphia, then the U.S. capital. It was the first building of the Republic raised under the Constitution.
The Mint's first director was renowned scientist David Rittenhouse. The position is currently held by Edmund C. Moy. Henry Voigt was the first Superintendent and Chief Coiner, and is credited with some of the first U.S. coin designs. Another important position at the Mint is that of Chief Engraver, which has been held by such men as Frank Gasparro, William Barber, Charles E. Barber, James B. Longacre, Christian Gobrecht and Anthony C. Paquet, among others.
The Mint was made an independent agency in 1799, and under the Coinage Act of 1873, became part of the Department of the Treasury. It was placed under the auspices of the Treasurer of the United States in 1981.
