About Us
C&M Moving and Storage was founded in 1999 by Ron Merrill. Ron, who wrote the monthly lifestyle column, (The Good Life), in Houston's 002+ magazine for nearly three years, is considered one of the most prominent young business leaders in the city. He was recently profiled in Entrepreneur and Southern Living magazines, and in 2002 the Houston Business Journal named C&M one of the fastest growing businesses in Houston.C&M started in March of 1999 with a rented van and two clients: antique dealers that required nothing short of impeccable moving services to transport their precious cargo. C&M quickly gained a reputation for expert service and attention to detail, and word began to spread among Houston's community of fine art designers. As C&Ms client base grew, it became known as (the) company for moving fine furnishings. It wasn't long before Ron was counting among his clients Houston's high-profile socialites, who trusted C&M to move the contents of their River Oaks and Shady Side mansions either across town or to another city.
Since cornering the market on the moving and storage of Houston's fine art and antiques, C&M has grown by leaps and bounds. The company recently consolidated from three scattered warehouse locations to our current 80,000 square foot facility. C&M Fine Art Services provides a variety of fine art services including art installation by experienced, professional art handlers, museum quality custom crating, technical packing, and climate controlled storage at our secure facility.
We pride ourselves in the quality of our work and our emphasis on understanding our client's needs to ensure that the art display enhances the living or work space.
We are fully insured, with general contractors insurance supplemented by a separate policy to cover the artwork that we handle. We work efficiently, neatly, and accurately, not making unnecessary holes in walls, floors, or any other unwanted places. We are polite, prompt and offer creative design and arranging ideas. We have extensive experience installing any type of framed artwork or mirror on any type of wall, and can handle even difficult spaces while always meeting the most precise specifications. We have a network of carefully selected and highly qualified assistants so that no project is too large for us. It allows us to be very responsive to short turn around times as well. We can also install a range of other items, including Asian screens, decorative hardware, wall sconces, shelves, etc.
Refinishing
C&M offers professional antique wood restoration and refinishing, as well as wood furniture and antique repair. Our refinishers take pride in the care and attention to detail they bring to each individual project.
