Actually the Seirafian Family in Isfahan make the best silk rugs in the World. They make the very beautiful Hereke look like dingy wool rugs. http://www.persiancarpetguide.com/sw-asia/Rugs/Persian/Isfahan/Seirafian_of_Isfahan_Rugs.htm

As a passioned carpet lover and knower you should know that an Isfahan rug never ever can be a genuine Hereke rug and the reason for that is not only that an Isfahan is knotted in Isfahan and not in Hereke, although there are knotted Hereke patterns.

Although the rugs from Isfahan are very beautiful and fine knotted, the genuine Hereke silken rugs are the finest in the world. The reason for that is found in the knot technique AND in the perfectness of knotting art and clear display of the patterns. You can read about it on my blog. The link you can find above...

These look really nice. I don't know much about silk carpets, but I do know that Turkey has had a reputation for quality carpets for centuries. 5*****

Hello Julie, please sorry, I saw your comment only today, because I was involved and very busy with our new collection of awesome fine and beautiful Hereke Silk Carpets. This rugs are more for the wall reither the floor, so that they your cats can not destroy them ... :-)

I love a fine, decorative throw rug and have had many throughout the years. But, our cats -- particularly Bandit -- have issues and have ruined too many rugs. You know, Jacksonville has a fair amount of fine Turkish rugs that it's quite impressive. I'm in awe of how artisans can hand-knot rugs with such intricate designs.

I once was lucky enough to visit a carpet factory whilt in Turkey. We were shown the process of how these rugs are made. They are absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing them with us :)
