Fin For YourSelf
Michael and I met the summer of 2005. We have had so many fantastic experiences since being introduced to the world of scuba. There is nothing like being on or in the water. We love the feeling of being weightless. I can sit over the same square foot of coral for hours watching the marine life interact with each other and seeing the underwater world swim by. It's such an awesome feeling to hover just off the top of a great underwater mountain to look into the deep abyss 1,000 feet below%u2026. it feels as if you're flying. Once I unexpectedly turned around to a giant sea turtle that had stopped 1 foot behind me, hovering, studying me as intently as I was studying him. Then there's swimming with the wild dolphins. It doesn't get much better than that. I can't wait for our next live-aboard, as there's nothing like being rocked to sleep by the gentle waves every night. We can never get enough of the beautiful sunrises, the sunsets, or the moon and the stars on a cool tranquil night. I could go on and on....
To put it mildly, our experiences have been no less than awesome. The one thing I never planned on SCUBA bringing me, however, was all the new friends I would meet. Michael and I are actually a testimony to one of the greatest aspects of diving - meeting compatible new and interesting people. I was an active Dive Control Specialist (aka Dive Con) mentoring a class down at Beaver Lake, and Michael was the bright eyed (and quite handsome, I might add J) "Stress and Rescue" student. It was the last class he needed under his belt prior to beginning Dive Con training. Funny how you get to know someone when you spend your weekend playing the stressed out diver, and working to rip the mask and regulator off your student's face for two straight days! Needless to say, Michael survived the weekend and graduated his class. He went on to complete his Dive Con training as well. We dated for 3 years, and finally were married on July 4th, 2009. We are planning a long happy life filled with many dive vacations! We also attend SCUBA training classes together. We very much enjoy teaching new students and getting them comfortable with their underwater skills. I love introducing people to the sport that has provided me with such passions in my life.
Michael and I have several goals for the website. First, we wish to learn and share with others. Secondly, we hope to introduce non-divers to the marine creatures they have not yet been lucky enough to experience first hand. Thirdly, and most importantly, we hope to increase awareness of the fragility and conservation of the earth's greatest resource.... Our Underwater World.
We appreciate the read!
Wishing everyone many years of safe travels and spectacular diving!!
