The story of my new family!

I was born on June 28th, 2010...the 12th birthday of my new short-boy owner! When I was eight weeks old, I was the last of my 9 brothers and sisters to find a home, and it was just perfect for all of us.

Mommy and daddy made me a surprise for the kids: a taller boy, a shorter boy, and a short girl. Of course, short is relative; they're all WAY taller than me! The kids were all SO excited. Mommy and daddy had already bought me a kennel, toys, food, and leashes, so we were all set to go home and play.

Watch below as I grow up fast!

Here's me with my mommy when I first met her.

As a dog in a happy home, this is VERY important to me!

I was lucky enough to be bred by very caring owners, cared for properly (I have all my shots and meds!), and given to loving homes. Not every dog is as lucky as me, especially dogs who come from litters that are purposely bred. The ASPCA works hard to prevent the overpopulation of dogs in the US and prevention of cruelty to puppies who are bred or adopted by ignorant owners.

Thanks for giving my extended family a chance!

The Society was formed to alleviate the injustices animals faced then, and we continue to battle cruelty today. Whether it's saving a pet who has been accidentally poisoned, fighting to pass humane laws, rescuing animals from abuse or sharing resources wi

Getting a dog like me? Do your research!

Mommy and daddy are two smart biscuits. They did their research when they decided to get me. Being a purebred Brittany Spaniel, there are some things they what to make sure they know about, like my personality quirks and tips for training me properly.

My second day at my new home

My first night at home went pretty well. I had a few accidents in the house while playing with the tall-boy. I'm not used to being inside! But mommy and daddy took me out regularly and I'm getting the hang of "go potty." When it got dark, I got to play a little on mommy and daddy's bed. But it was an eventful day, and as soon as I dozed off they put me in my kennel. My bladder is tiny so I had to go around 2:40, but daddy jumped right out of bed and took me outside. I was good again until 6!

Day two was a busy day! First I got to go with daddy to take the kids back to their mom's house. I won't get to see them for a whole week! Then mommy and daddy and I went to their favorite coffee shop. They were going to show me off to everyone but it just happened that most of their friends didn't go for coffee that morning, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

I was so exhausted after being up for four hours that I took a little nap on the coffee shop patio. I had to rest up for my first day of "hunting." As a Brittany I'm a bird dog, but daddy bow hunts so I probably won't be retrieving a lot of birds. Mommy is hoping I'll be good for snowshoe hare hunting. She loves to go up north and do that!

Daddy took me out to his friend Jeff's house and I got to wander around in the woods. Jeff saved me from his big meanie cat, and thought I was pretty cute. Jeff and I will have to get a photo together because we're one good looking pair. We both have red hair and calm, sleepy eyes. Jeff says he's a better dancer though.

That night I spent some quality time at home, and mommy and daddy learned I have some weird sleeping habits!

Between the couch cushions is a perfect place to sleep!

Day three, and I'm doing so well!

My second night was even better than the first. I only had to go out once and I slept so much mommy and daddy barely noticed I was wedged between them. I'm nipping less and doing really well with my "go potty" commands. I'm even getting the hang of "going outside," "sit," "come here," "eat your food," and "go inside." Mommy played catch with me for a little while and I was able to "go get it," "bring it here," and "drop it." They're so impressed.

In the morning, mommy worked on her computer at home while daddy ran errands. I tried to get up in her lap, but she didn't want to make Rosie jealous. (Yah, by the way, I have three older furry siblings. A dog and two cats. We're still making nice, so more on them later.) I cuddled up to her feet the best I could.

At eleven I'm going to meet Nancy and Wanda at the coffee shop!

Say hi! I love meeting new people and receiving fan mail.
