Fire King Mixing Bowls With Tulips

I remember fondly the Fire King Tulip bowls that were in my Mother's kitchen when I was a young girl. She had the set of mixing bowls which consisted of a 6 inch, 7 inch, 8 inch, and 9 inch that nested nicely and saved room on the cabinet shelf.

Of course these are now considered vintage bowls and are highly collectible by many people. The bowls are usually pretty affordable and can be found either one at a time or sometimes you are lucky to find the entire set.

Many a wonderful recipe was mixed up in these bowls in my Mother's kitchen. I wonder what ever happened to Mom's bowls.

Anchor Hocking And Fire King

a little history

They stopped producing this line of glassware in 1976 which is why it is such an affordable collectible now. There was just so much produced. You can find dinnerware along with bakeware and mixing bowls, all with the Fire King label.

Often times Fire King products were sold in bags of flour or as a give away at a Gas Station. One could also purchase some of the lines in the local grocery store and even the hardware store.

I remember that an aunt of mine had a Tulip bowl and that is what she always mixed her cornbread in. I love these Fire King Tulip Bowls.

These are beautiful, and it's fun reading about the history of Fire King tulip bowls. I don't remember if we had any of these or not, but what a great collectible!

I remember a lot of really heavy stoneware (I think that's what they were called) mixing bowls, but we had lots of Fire King Coffee Cups and Saucers when I was growing up. One of my aunts had this Fire King Tulip pattern on something, though I can't recall exactly what it was. I do remember the pattern, because I have always thought it lovely. Great lens, this!
