Fire Prevention and Safety Tips

Fire Prevention and Safety
Nearly 3400 people died in residential fires in the United States in 2002. In nearly two-thirds of these fires, smoke alarms were either missing or not working properly. Regardless of the cause of fires, everyone needs to know how to respond in case
of fire.

Fire Safety Topics
Every day Americans experience the horror of fire. But most people don't understand fire. Only when we know the true nature of fire can we prepare ourselves and our families. Each year more than 4,000 Americans die and approximately 20,000 are injured in fires, many of which could be prevented.

Fire Prevention Education
Fire Prevention Education is one of the most rewarding programs you could participate in, whether you are a resident, child or parent, teacher or firefighter. The knowledge gained,"KNOWING WHAT TO DO", through attending or teaching these programs could save your life or the life of someone near and dear. Once a fire starts... there's no time to develop a plan!

The Fire Protection Research Foundation (FPRF), an affiliate of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), was awarded $990,000 in a Fire Prevention and Safety Grant from the Emergency Preparedness Directorate of the Federal Emergency Management Agency of the Department of Homeland Security to conduct three research projects in support of the fire service.

It's great to see your focus on fire safety. A home fire protection method that is gaining more and more attention is residential fire sprinklers. This is the focus I have taken to raise awareness of the benefits of fire sprinklers and clear up the many myths about them. If you would like to team up to help further promote home fire protection just let me know. Thanks.
