KidKraft Fire Truck Toddler Bed
The recommended age for this bed is for 15 months and older with a maximum weight capacity of 50 pounds. It fits a standard size crib mattress and is low to the ground which makes it easy for your toddler to get on and off the bed. This fire truck toddler bed is made of durable wood (medium density fibreboard) and painted bright red with lead-free and non-toxic paints. The guard rail is a ladder cut-out to keep your toddler from rolling off the bed. There is also a storage compartment at the front.
Most reviews out there for this bed is positive. Many lauded its ease of assembly with the pieces being numbered. Sturdiness also gets a thumbs up with a parent claiming that her son had jumped on the bed many times without a problem. Many also like the fact that this bed comes with very cute and matching accessories such as night table and step stool.
While this bed comes complete with silk-screened fire truck details, there is no siren and such to make it more real. Some kids may also find it easy to roll off the bed with the short guard rails. Also, some parents noted that their toddlers will fast outgrow this bed. However, as a general guide, most toddler beds would be too small for a kid by the time he reaches 5 years of age.

Just Kids Stuff Fire Truck Toddler Bed
This model has an imported, laminated Baltic birch construction (no MDF) with a lead-free lacquer finish. The recommended age for this bed is 16 months to 5 years old with a weight capacity of 50 pounds as with most toddler beds. The entrance to the bed is only about 12 inches off the ground which means your toddler will have little problem getting on and off it. Just like the Step2 fire engine toddler bed, this model is also built in the USA.Parents find this bed easy to assemble and very solid as well. One parent even commented that she had laid down on it a few times with her toddler and it held up superbly although it well exceeds the recommended weight limit. This bed certainly doesn't wobble like some other toddler beds out there.
However, this bed can be a little pricey given the quality of its materials. It has a list price of $300 and you will have to hunt around if you want a better price. The design is also less attractive compared to the other two models with its squarish look.
Step2 Fire Engine Toddler Bed
This model is constructed of molded plastic rather than wood and uses a crib mattress. The dashboard has molded-in steering wheel, radio and gauge details. It also includes a working night light designed as a siren which shuts off automatically. Low to the ground and durable, this bed is made in USA which should have parents worrying less over safety issues.Reviews-wise, this Step2 bed gets an overall good rating. Many parents agree that it is easy to assemble and sturdy. A few actually wrote that their kids keep jumping on the bed with no signs of creaking. The sides are high compared to some other toddler beds out there, which means that your toddler will not roll off the bed in the middle of the night. Parents also like the working siren night light which is practical as it helps to give your toddler a sense of security when going to sleep at night.
The downside of this bed is its price which is relatively expensive for a toddler bed. In terms of the bed itself, many parents complained that the batteries for the night light run out pretty fast. The high sides also has their drawbacks as they could make your toddler feels boxed-in as he won't be able to have a complete view of the room when lying down.
