I used to work at a classic rock radio station and we had a reel-to-reel for some commercials. It was a little tough to cue up but it really gave me a feeling of old school when I did.

I love these old machines. They were so much better than cassette tape. A proper good quality analogue sound.

And the neat thing is they still can be found today thanks to auctions and estate sales. Thanks for stopping by.

My mom an aunty used to send taped letters back and forth to each other, as we lived in Illinois and she lived in California, I remember sitting and listening to my aunts letters, it was cool because it sounded like her and we didn't get to see her too often. Thanks for the memories.

That must have been wonderful...and writing is so silent that you probably learned a lot about what was happening in the family through listening this way. Glad you have such happy memories.

Sometimes reading other people's lenses, just reminds me how old I am getting. Some great memories here.

LOL, yes, sometimes I feel "old" while writing them, and then I have to remind myself that "you're only as old as you feel"...well that used to work, now I have to think up another quote:-) LOL

Great lens. It's got me wondering whether my parents still have theirs tucked away somewhere...

It might be worth lots if they do, or be a wonderful thing to listen to if you have tapes.

I'm sure glad we don't have to deal with those anymore.

I remember making tapes on my parent's reel to reel tape player. Thanks for the memories!

We've come a long way, baby, but I remember having one of these, too.

Wow! This certainly takes me back. Just think, in a few short years kids won't know what an 8 track or a cassette looks like. Great lens!
