How to Get the Most of Basic First Aid Classes

We often think of basic first aid,as bandages and ice packs, and compresses. Well i you talk to people who have ever taken a first aid class, you'll begin to hear that there's more to injuries than just cuts and scrapes.

If you finally decide to take a first aid class, try to create an environment for a great learning experience,by trying hard to set good examples, volunteer to do the right things and more because frst aid is a community friendly skill and not an isolated skill.
The concept of first aid is a honourable thing in itself and need more moral strength and fortitude.

Show your love for this new skill by being responsible.

So since much of the basic first aid information might be new to you, it will help you to write down everything you learn in addition to listening to the instructor. Combining these two learning techniques will solidify the information in your brain, while also helping you to organize the knowledge you are receiving. You will then be able to go back over your notes if you are unclear about something and refer to them when you need first aid advice.

If you don't understand why you are doing something, make sure that you ask the instructor. This will help you learn quickly as well as retain that information. The Concept of "First Aid" Revisited

If you want to Make the Most of a First Aid Manual, then try and start memorizing the very important steps as its impossible to memorize the manual.

In the real world, helping stabilize a patient in the case of something quite severe does not make it easy to be doing references in the middle of a trauma situation.
Secondly, just having the first aid manual is not enough. You will have to know what you are looking for and where to find it.

Picture yourself doing the steps I your mind's eye. Don't just Read It. Remember this is a manual you are going to keep around for a very long time to come.

This noble skill is not a private, hideaway in a closet somewhere thing. It is designed for every living being so get out there and take classes. It is a cause you can be very proud of talking about in pubic.

Go for more hands on classes, because we learn more in doing than just reading. You can find these classes through your local Red Cross chapter or in your community class schedules. If you are unable to find a local first aid class, contact your local fire department or police departments to see if they can offer you training.

Organize the Sections and remember not to ignore those parts you don't like or are not familiar with.

Remember saving lives is not a game. You either make up your mind to do it or leave it alone and be damned when the need arises?

Remember this is a new skill you are learning and will need to be updated frequently

With your first aid manual, you will be better prepared than most. And the more you make of this manual, the more valuable it becomes for everyone.
