What is Ironman Triathlon?
Nowadays the term Ironman describes one of the most prestigious one day endurance events in the World. Ironman is the term used to describe a form of long-distance triathlon consisting of a 3.86km swim, 180.25km cycle and 42.195km run completed back to back in a racing environment. Ironman is actually the name of the umbrella corporation that sponsor the World Championship race held in Kona, Hawaii.
There is no greater sporting challenge to any man or women than the Ironman triathlon, surely that alone earns the Ironman a Squidoo lens all to itself?.
