Don't be scared if its your first project! You'll do just fine

Building your first wood storage shed can be a daunting task, especially if you are a beginner at woodworking projects. The best part about woodworking is if you mess up, generally most of the mistakes can be fixed or completely redone. You don't have to own expert tools to building something such as a wood shed. Hand held wood tools in plenty. The most important thing to take in consideration is your plans for the project.

The place I've found for wood storage shed plans is Wood-Plans.info. This place has thousand of woodwoking projects including wood sheds.

Knowing What You are Building

The first step is to find your wood shed plans. You can't start a project without knowing what you're building. My favorite place to find plans is Wood-Plans.info since there are thousand of unique ideas to get you started. Knowing your design helps you know which material and how much you'll need.

Did You Survey the Land?

By survey I don't literally mean hiring a surveyor to survey your property. If you already planned on building a wood storage shed then you probably already picked out the location. When you're picking out a spot for your shed its best to use flat enough ground as possible. You shouldn't build any shed on an unleveled piece of land. If its not level by a great amount then you better think twice about the spot. Leveling land is more work than you think. A lot of your time will be spent shoveling and lugging dirt around. If you don't have any spare dirt to level out then you'll have to fit dirt into your budget.

Getting Your Materials and Tools

After you have a plan in mind its time to start collection the materials. Its best to shop around for the wood, not only for the best price but for the best quality. If you don't know anything about wood then the best method is if it doesn't look good then it probably isn't. If you got your plans from Wood-Plans.info then you should know exactly how much materials is needed. If you're adding your own flare to the wood storage shed plans then you'll just need to take your best guess on how much you need. When it comes to woodworking the sky is the limit.

For the tools you could get by with just a hammer and hand saw, but I guarantee you wont be having any fun at all. Power tools will make things go a lot quicker and easier. A circular saw and power drill is enough for a beginner. Having other tools such as saw horses will help things move along nicely.
