The F2 Fisher metal detector is the first and most popular model from the Fisher metal detector hobby range. The engineering guys at the Fisher labs went right back to basics with this entry model and redesigned it to produce a totally new concept in metal detectors.
All the F series incorporate many features that you would not find on others detectors in this price range.
With fast, sensitive target response the Fisher F2 metal detector is very sensitive and because the search coil acts like an ariel antenna it can be very susceptible to other electronic fields around you. If this happens you will here erratic beeping so by simply adjusting the sensitivity control you will ensure that only the targets that you specify will be identified.
Probable finds that will be displayed on the LCD include Gold, Silver, Iron, Foil, Nickel and Zinc. There is also a TAB register that will display if ring pulls are found. The depth of the object will also be displayed and will stay displayed until another object is found.
The F2 comes with an 8inch concentric coil that is waterproof so can be used on both land and wet areas like beaches for Coin Jewelry and relic hunting.

The Fisher metal detector F5 is not recommended for beginners as the enhanced features may be too overwhelming for a newbee, but if you have experience of another detector and are looking to upgrade to a metal detector that will detect objects up to 10 inches underground, then the F5 is the device for you.
This machine has a variable tone pinpoint system that will identify different metals, like iron, steel and copper.
Sometimes other electronic devices that are being used in the vicinity can give off electromagnetic signals and cause interference, so the F5 has a frequency shift control that will change the detector's operating frequency to minimise the interference
