Over the many years I've been fishing one thing stays constant. There is always a few buddies I fish with that are so obsessed with thier fishing gear. They are worse than women when it comes to having all the latest gadgets, gizmos and accessories to help them catch fish. It always amazes me when we arrive at our fishing location at the amount of garbage some of my friends drag along. I'm a simple man and enjoy making the most of my fishing outing. I take 1 rod ,1 reel, my fly vest and waders. My buddies however have 2 or three rods and reels eache, usually a couple differnt tackle boxes and all sorts of odd fishing equipment they have picked up over the years. Once were on site I'm out of the car , got my waders on and head to the stream and usually catch my first fish before some of them ever get their waders on.
Dont get me wrong as I stated in my intro I love buying fishing equipment and have tons of it, I just dont haul it all with me everywhere I go. Each fishing location is differnet and I only take what is needed for that specific fishing trip. After all its not the fishing equipment that makes a good fisherman it's the technique.
