Come and Visit the Tampa Bay Area

Do you love fishing?  How about planning a vacation in the Tampa Bay area.  This area offers so many great things to do and places to see, and I know that you would have a great time.

If you are thinking of a fishing trip, I would enjoy being your guide. Tampa Bay is the largest estuary in Florida, and I have been fishing since I was a little kid (and that's a long time!).  I have been guiding on Tampa Bay since 1992.  I guided part time from 1992 until I retired from Tampa Fire Rescue after 27 years.  Now I have a great time sharing my love of fishing with others.  I am a Florida native and know my way around Tampa Bay very well.

Tampa Bay begins near St. Petersburg at Egmont Key.  On the south side of the bay is Manatee County and Anna Maria Island.  As you move further up in the bay, you continue find more great places to catch speckled trout, snook, redfish and other exciting species.

At the mouth of Tampa Bay, near St. Pete Beach, is one of the "Best Beaches" in the nation.  The beach is on the grounds of Ft. Desoto , a beautifull park on the Gulf of Mexico.  The area around Ft. Desoto is also a great area to catch not only all the species I mentioned earlier, but also giant tarpon.  The tarpon show up in early spring and hang around through August or September.

There are also many beach hotels and condo's on the beach near these  great fishing areas.  Many of my customers vacation on the beach and enjoy a day fishing.  So if you need to get away from the snow or from the boss, come down to Florida and enjoy our hospitality and great fishing.

The Flats Meow II

Welcome Aboard

"The Flats Meow II" is a 23' Dorado. It is an open fisherman with a center console, a full tower and dual steering stations, plenty of storage, a trolling motor, coolers, and it's powered by a Yamaha 200 hp four-stroke motor.

There is plenty of room and comfortable to fish out of. You don't have to bring anything except what you want to eat and drink and lots of sunscreen!

I furnish tackle, bait, ice, water, and license. We'll fish with light and medium spinning tackle with braided line. We use live bait most often but we may also use artifical baits like soft plastics on lead jig heads.

I'm a licensed and insured Coast Guard captain. Come join me for an exciting day on the water.

I hope you find my "Lens" fun and informative.
