About Dave "Fit" Finlay

Dave "Fit" Finlay is a WWE Smackdown wrestler who until a while ago most people in the United states probably wouldn't have known.

Finlay started in Europe and has won Many titles in the CWA promotion and Joint Promotions. He first made it to the attention of US fans in WCW as the Fit Finlay "The Belfast Bruiser", a man who had a grudge against Lord William Regal (Steve Regal for current WWE Fans). They had several good matches together culminating in a parking lot brawl which both men took quite a beating in.

After a couple of years Finlay managed to Beat Booker T (Currently King Booker) for the WCW for the WCW television title which he held for a few months in 1999 before loosing it back to Booker T. From there he fought mainly as a hardcore wrestler until he parted ways with WCW.

When WCW was bought by WWE Finlay signed on as a Road agent and had a hand in training many of the WWE Divas for matches.

In January of 2006 Fit Finlay made his on air return to wresting on the WWE's Smackdown brand. Though his first match against Matt Hardy saw him loose by Disqualification no one doubted that this man who was coming up on 50 was going to be easy. In fact Finlay's catch phrase now for WWE is  "My name is Finlay and I loves to fight."

Finlay in his short time back in wrestling has accomplished quite a lot. With the help of a little leprechaun character called the little bastard he has taken part in fueds with Chris Benoit and Bobby Lashley even winning the US tile in the process, during which time he and Regal again had a match at the Great American Bash.

For the moment it looks as though Finlay is here to stay and after seeing how well people like Ric Flair are doing and the fact that in the Royal Rumble he lasted for a half hour, I can't wait to see what else he can treat the fans too.
