Is hiking an approved activity while wearing Fit Flops?

FitFlop are not like the many varieties of Velcro trekking sandals. The thing is, they offer no protection from bad weather or rough terrain.

The central concept of the Fit Flop is that they are a fitness shoe, meant for walking on more flat surfaces and for city dwellers. The idea is that you get a workout while you walk, so you don't need to visit the gym for a fitness routine.

Can I develop Calluses or is it more prevalent when wearing this footwear?

There is no grounds for this concern.

The fact is that most fitflop wearers actually develop fewer calluses than they normally would. This is because these sandals are designed to allow plenty of room around your feet, which means that the chances of them rubbing against your feet are minimized.

Is it beneficial to exercise in Fit Flops?

Depends on the exercise. If you are walking, then it's OK. But if you are jogging, running, or doing the treadmill at the gym, it is not recommended. They were not designed for such activity, and do not have the proper attributes for safely exercising

It is truly a walking sandal, and should be used as such. That is the main reason for developing them, to get a workout while you walk.

Can I wear them if I am pregnant?

I would say that one should consult a doctor if pregnant. This is the safest and easiest way to find out for sure if it is o.k.

Initially, the developer of the FitFlops recommended that these sandals should not be used if pregnant because they work the muscle groups more and may cause more strain.

But several pregnant users of this footwear have said that they did feel relief when wearing them and experienced less lower leg pain and swelling.
